What kind of trim is around the openings for the tow hooks, Don? I used a hole saw on mine and was very happy with the results without any additional garnish.

Kind o look like something for an electrical box?

While I like the look of the tow hooks, I do wonder about their actual strength and utility. I have a front mounted Drawtite hitch. It has a pair of loops welded on from factory with a 300 pound pull rating. Tink the only use I ever found was to pull some small trees I had cut down into an easier place to trash them.

Have used the front hitch a couple of times to move a trailer in tight spots.

It's plastic flex U-channel for lining the edges of holes in sheet metal. I've had a roll of it for years and always use it on 2" dia. holes or greater. And yes John, it's mainly used for sheet metal and protects wire bundles from sharp edges when pulling through. It looks more finished w/o the edge showing for applications like these I think. Besides, I like additional garnish.  :)

Nice. Did you not have the tow hooks before?

The stock hooks say max load 10,000 lbs, and if all the stock brackets are used should be pretty strong since they tie into the frame.

Err, yes I did. I'll reword the title; it's confusing. I don't use the stock tow hook brackets; I'm using the HiCountry brackets I worked on with Matt Bush years ago.

What exactly are you selling, the one from your truck, and what is the price?

Thanks

I'm not selling anything. This isn't in the classified forum............

I've got a set of factory tow hooks and mounting brackets to add one of these days.  I like those a lot more.  Especially the way they tie into the sway bar mounts.

Don't you run some sway bar mounts that drop down and forward slightly?  How do those fit into this setup?

The Synergy sway bar mounts fit fine. They just were not installed yet when I took the pics of the HiCountry brackets.

That looks nice and all but shouldn't everything on there be chrome? :D

In all fairness to the guy above asking if it was for sale, before I realized this was in the Tech forum I thought it was a for sale ad too. The sidebar doesn't tell you which forum a thread is in.
