Blue88Comanche
Dad and i make it out to the JY this afternoon. We where searching for a Master Brake Cylinder when we came across a 1986 Comanche. It had the V-6, was 2wd, and the body was in good shape. but the best part........ It had a bed light and the dash switch!    And as proof I did snatch the bed light. We also left with the MJ side vent covers, 97+ front clip, the newer 10 curved blade electric aux fan, windshield wiper control boxes, 97+ windshield wiper arms

neohic
Disgusting. Just disgusting. I can never get over the condition of some vehicles in "junk" yards down south. :fs2:
NHMJXJ
:agree: Nothing but rust, dents and mud in New Hampshire. If it was good, it's gone. As a side note, they're in shirt sleeves. I'm guessing those pics were taken today given Blue88's post. I'm watching another forecast 4-6 inches of snow accumulate on the Jeeps. That's on top of the 10 inches we got Thursday night. Blue88Comanche
If i were you id Take the slider too We tried to get the slider but did not have the proper tools to remove it, we chipped a corner of it and gave up on it. did not want to completely destroy the window if someone else can remove it. Disgusting. Just disgusting. I can never get over the condition of some vehicles in "junk" yards down south. :fs2: I would be all for buying the whole truck if I had the money and storage for it. The MJ was in rather good shape, no rust spots, paint was good. And if I had the same level of workmanship as you I would have loved to use the 7 foot bed as a trailer. I have been up to Boston MA, and around in New Hampshire in January & March. The snow was not bad the 2 trips went up there. City life is not for me, I stood and watched the traffic out of my aunt's window for about 10 min, and was thankful I did not need to drive in that mess... Minuit
Why would someone junk this? Seriously? My truck was in that sort of shape when I came across it. On a side note, my local JY has 2 MJs - an 89 that got T-boned HARD, and a loaded 86 with cargo light, etc. Some delightful idiot stripped the Torx bolts on the cargo light and most of the other parts on both were either broken or rusted past the point of usefulness. My cargo light was attached with Philip head screws.. they where also stripped, for the most part. I almost was not able to get the cargo light

ftpiercecracker1
The other day i too was at the JY and happened upon an 89 two door cherokee with power windows. I know i know, i was like a little school. . . OH muy Gawd! OH Mah GAwd!! OOH MAH GAWD!!! Uber rare, so i have been told. Everything was there and intact, only problem was, the driver side door was jammed shut, it was starting to rain, it was freezing cold, and i was going to be late for class. In the end i left empty handed, oh well, i think the 97 plus two door switches are more rarer.

I will be sure to post some when I install the light. Like you I am having the hard choice of drilling into the cab or not.
