jimoshel Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I didn't think about historic plates. I got three from NM. One car, one truck and a motorcycle one. And one from Co.
AMCJeepMJ Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm running Oregon's early 1960's-styled Pacific Wonderland plate. No options for customization on these. LED illumination too.

HOrnbrod Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 This is correct. I'm also curious what you represent based on your signature.
yxmj Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 If you have to ask.......then the question is answered...
gogmorgo Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 If you have to ask.......then the question is answered... Okay, then... since we're on the topic of your sig anyhow, do you mind fixing it so you don't look so stupid? Life is Hard......It's even Harder if you're Stupid...... And yes, this bugged me so much I hid your signature.
gogmorgo Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 :rotf: Nice... Just ignore the 'Toba plates on my MJ. My permanent address is 15 miles into your province. ;)
HOrnbrod Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Keep it hid Suggest changing your signature by swapping Saskatchewan to Virginia Beach, if you know what I mean. B)
jimoshel Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I give up. How do you spell 'Saskatchewan'? :rotf:

jimoshel Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 You just buy a new sticker every year. Stick it on the old tag.

Jeep Driver Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 You just buy a new sticker every year. Stick it on the old tag. Do you register the old tag? What makes the old tag valid?
Alexia Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 You just buy a new sticker every year. Stick it on the old tag.Do you register the old tag? What makes the old tag valid? The plate can typically be endlessly transferred between vehicles and continually updated with a new registration sticker. The only time I can think that was broken on purpose is when in Pennsylvania the state said everyone must get a new style plate, but free of charge of course. Some states also sell custom historical vanity license plates that are designed to look like an older style plate.
Automan2164 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 In IL, if you have a vehicle registered as an 'Antique' (25+ YO) you can run a plate from the year of the car as long as you have the correct plates and papers in the car. I have an '86 Illinois dealer plate for the diesel MJ, but the vanity plate I have on is much better. Other plates on other Jeeps have been: 1 JP MJ (First and third trucks) 1 TON MJ ('87 Metric Ton and '92 Elim as a transfer) JP XJ ('97 XJ DD) Rob
jimoshel Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 1952 MB. 293,5** miles on it. Ran as good as the day it left the factory. Was looking forward to it turning 300K. A drunk pulled out to pass and nailed it. The wife was driving. Hard to read but that's Colorado historical plate on it. Issued to any vehicle over 25 years old. Pic was took in 1985.
Pete M Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 The only time I can think that was broken on purpose is when in Pennsylvania the state said everyone must get a new style plate, but free of charge of course. michigan did that too. made us give up our white on blues for a blue on white for better readability.
