Pete M Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 7 hours ago, Fernando87mj said: No still gotta source that and look more into what I need to run for the clutch to work I used a brass compression fitting to adapt my old metal clutch line to the plastic line of the new trans. but I also lucked out and had a bleeder on the external slave. apparently they didn't all have them.

Pretty good info Pete , I had read about some people having to modify the firewall for the clutch master and in all honestly I don’t want to cut the old girl up , I want to keep it as original as I can.
Pete M Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 you cannot use these for brake lines because they are not made for that amount of pressure, but the clutch line is a lot less and so I don't mind suggesting it.
Fernando87mj Posted October 6, 2020 Author Posted October 6, 2020 Been lusting after one of these for soo long, so when the opportunity came up I couldn’t pass it up. Thanks to gJeep I have a nice new to me sports bar for this one. Still want one for my 88 one day. Super happy about it. Still need to repair the threads on the brackets and install them. Couldn’t help myself to at least mock it up to see how it looked. It looks glorious.
Gjeep Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 Just saw this post — looks great on your MJ. I like the simple white and black of your truck. Good meeting you!
Pete M Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 sportbars take an already great looking truck and bump it up like 10 notches
Fernando87mj Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 Decided to finally man up and get that old boat anchor Peugeot out. Wasn’t a horrible job, much easier than the new Honda’s I have to fix. Worst part was the 2 nuts on the Down pipe being frozen stuck. Even after hitting it with the torch the nuts were still a pain. That and separating the trans was a little annoying due to the weird shape of the Peugeot. But she’s out now. Waiting on my 1973 304 v8 cj pilot bushing to arrive now. Bought a tranny jack for the job, the awkward shape of the Peugeot made it a little difficult to keep steady. Those e12 bolts are getting replaced ASAP Boat anchor is out ready to swap in that Ax15
Pete M Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 I suggest using studs for the top 2 bolts. they help with realignment.

Pete M Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 um, Lowes? Ace Hardware? grade 8 studs of the appropriate size/pitch/length (length of the old bolt plus maybe an inch). put the 2 nuts on the end of one stud to make a "bolt", tighten the nuts together, put that into the block and tighten, then remove the nuts and do the same to the other one. install transmission, then install the nuts.

Fernando87mj Posted January 8, 2021 Author Posted January 8, 2021 Hoping To at least have this thing bolted in by this weekend crazy seeing how skinny the Peugeot is compared to the Ax15
eaglescout526 Posted January 8, 2021 Posted January 8, 2021 Well I now see the difference in the shift lever between the 10 and the 15.
Fernando87mj Posted January 10, 2021 Author Posted January 10, 2021 Plenty of progress today, Sort of.... removal of clutch , flywheel , and pilot bushing were pretty smooth. Tapped fresh threads into the “frame” went really smooth too. Went to install pilot bushing #1 ( Timkin pb77hd). and ruined it. Was the biggest pia to remove. Spent a good 2 hours trying to get it out. Went and got bushing number 2 (dorman 690-042) installed with more caution and with heat and it Stuck out a tiny bit. Hopefully won’t cause issues. Tomorrow hoping to install flywheel , clutch , and maybe trans depending how i feel boss was nice enough to let me borrow electric impact that made removal a breeze. bread trick actually worked lol difference in bushings ruined bushing #1 going to assume bushing #2 is good and going to send it
MiNi Beast Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 i hope your doing rms as well while you are there...
