jimoshel Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I know we're asked to keep politics off the forum but I'm really curious. Has any of you been aware of the recall election we had here to recall two Senators who voted for a gun law? Magazine size restriction. Any way they got voted out. I'm just wondering how much attention this got around the country.
JeepcoMJ Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 As a conceal carry holder, I'm paying very close attention, so yes.
Old man with MJ Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Heard about it on Atlanta radio news this morning, Good work, they were Dems also?
jimoshel Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Heard about it on Atlanta radio news this morning, Good work, they were Dems also? Yep. Both of them. And this is a Democrat strong hold.
ride172 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I bet there are a couple people in New York and Washington DC who have been following pretty closely and are now very upset.... They should pay attention, for this movement of the people taking control away from their greased palms isnt going to stop...
johnj92131 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I was aware of the recall effort and the results.
95wrangler Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Bout time Americans across this country stand-up!
johnj92131 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Gentlemen, therenis a reason we don't talk politics here
ride172 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Who cares if this forum is about "trucks"... The pub is for anything... There are threads here about the stupidest crap, like facial hair and girlfriend pictures... No one said to them, "hey this is a forum about "trucks"".... Jim wasn't pushing a point if view, he was simply asking if anybody heard about it.... In my reply I was simply stating that politicians need to listen to the people not stacks of money...
Blue88Comanche Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I was keeping tabs on it, I first saw it on several facebook pages. I think I saw it again on yahoo, after the polls where in.

People are passionate about their beliefs. Me personally, I think dems and reps are crazy. We need an independant, someone who sees the middle ground between the crazies
JeepcoMJ Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Agreed. All politicians suck. Moving on, when did being a politician become a career rather than a self obligated duty to your country?
carnuck Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I saw one side screaming about the other putting $300,000 into the battle, while they were writing a personal check for $250,000 themselves. Pot, meet kettle
ride172 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Agreed. All politicians suck. Moving on, when did being a politician become a career rather than a self obligated duty to your country? There are a few who are motivated by the right reasons, but then they get a little power and money and they quickly forget those reasons..
jimoshel Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 Just a run down to show what the little guy can do,WHEN HE WANTS TO. The Senator group received over 1.2 million dollars in donations, $500,000 of that from two billionaire donors. The recall received less than $70,000 in donations. The In Crowd had an entire staff being paid salaries. There was not one paid nobody on the recall crowd. 100% all volunteers. The In Crowd had several advisers from Chicago and Wash DC. The recall group was 100% local. Not one outsider. Just for your information.
ride172 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 The recall in Pueblo was started by a working class tradesman and his friends... They had never participated in anything political, they just decided to act and stand up for themselves... He claims he didn't receive any NRA money and won by 20 pts... His opposition was well financed and even had Bill Clinton doing prerecorded phone calls for her... The will of the people won when they stood together.... Say it together now, "I WILL NOT COMPLY"
xjrev10 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Heard about it on FB. More politicians need to get some balls and stand up for what's right.
95wrangler Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Politicians are put in their position/office from you and I.The balls need to be attached before/when elected. If,they take your gun today will they take your comanche tomorow?Be very much aware of who you put in office.

But voter turn our was very low, so the enthusiastic few turned out and most of the potential voters stay home. Sadly, a common story.
