  1. I just put in a Delphi fuel pump for my LWB '87 that I ordered from Autozone. It looked a little different and I had a little difficulty installing it (because I did not drop the tank), but it worked. I just started and drove my inherited MJ for the first time and I couldn't be happier.
  2. My condolences for your loss and I am inspired by your words.
  3. I appreciate it but most of my damage is in the same location as yours. I would not be able to even put a tailgate on if I had one. If a bed doesn't turn up, I may just see if there is a tailgate nearby. I can always beat my bed into place around where the tailgate would close. At least then the bed would be functional albeit ugly.
  4. I am looking for a truck bed (LWB) for my 87. Mine is in pretty bad shape. A lightly used bed within 200 miles of Niceville Florida (Zip 32578) would be perfect.
  5. My new to me 1987, 4.0 turns over but will not start. The previous care taker, who I trust completely, was a mechanic for 30 years and is now a pastor. He said it was running until about a week before I came to pick it up. He was the father-in-law of my good friend who died about a year and a half ago. The widow offered me the truck a few months back, but I only recently went to pick it up. Anyway, The fuel pump is getting juice but the power to it drops after a second of two. The fuel pump isn't functioning but I am not sure if it is the pump, the relay, or something else. This is my first fuel injected project, so please bear with me. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. The sticker was half worn off and the date was illegible. However, I did see the telltale AMC logo. It is an '87. I am very happy with it. My wife thinks its ugly as hell which makes me like it even more. Pics coming soon.
  7. Well now I am completely confused. The widow told me he had bought a 92 as it was the best/final year. She had to get the title notorized before sending it down, so I can confirm in a few days. Are their any other differences I can look for that might confirm the year? Thanks
  8. Sorry about that, it was dark out after a very long couple of days. The correct VIN is 1JTML6514HT073796 Can someone please run that through a decoder? Thanks
  9. So, it took a little longer to go get it than I would have liked. I pick it up today, finally. Pics tomorrow as it is dark already. The VIN is 1jtm36514ht073796. If there is someone out there who can run that a VIN decoder or tell me where one is, I would appreciate it. I do know it is a long bed, 4.0, new exhaust, lift, newer wrangler wheels, fresh tires, body and interior is rough but minimal rust. I am excited :)
  10. Someone got their feelings hurt.
  11. I think he has one too many zeros in the price.
  12. It looks brand new, only better. Great choice For Comanche of the Month
  13. I was comparing specs of the Comanche to a new 2 door Tacoma. The bed on the Tacoma is 1/2 inch wider and .2 inches shorter than a short bed Comanche. This made me think a cap for a new Tacoma might mount up to a short bed Comanche. Has anyone tried this? Edit: Never mind, I was looking at exterior box width. The Tacoma is 1.4 inches wider as far as cargo area goes. I was just looking for options.
  14. Welcome aboard. I am new here myself.
  15. I just drove an hour to a junk yard advertising many trailer hitches, including for an MJ. It was Iin their computer, but they didn't have it....

    Good to hear.
  17. Hey, I am new here. What do you expext? :) Seriously though, I was looking for it because I didn't know what it was when I saw it on the forum. Once I found it (thanks google), I realize I had done an SOA on one of my trucks before the internet was out.
  18. SOA - Spring Over Axle
  19. Hello all. I inherited a 1992 Grey Comanche but I haven't even seen it yet. I pick it up at the end of the month. It was running a little over a year when my friend passed. His wife hasn't done anything with it since. I know I will have to flush out the old gas. She knows nothing really about the other specs. I am scouring this forum and the Internet looking for 1992 model specific info. Any info would help. I am anxious to get smart on my new truck. BTW. I am from Oklahoma and currently live in the Florida panhandle. I have owned a CJ5, 2 XJs, many pickups, and currently own a JKU..
