shawn Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 thinking of going to a 16". what wheels should i be keeping my eyes out for?. i understand crown vic cop wheels might be a good choice. also some zj wheels came 16/4.5. any ideas? I'm loath to give up my gambles and turbines but am seeing lots of deals around on 16" mud tires.
mvusse Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 all jeep liberty KJ. All jeep wrangler TJ I thought all TJ wheels were 15". I know the majority of them are.
87sparTruck Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Ranger rims should work as the fenders and much of those trucks haven't changed much since 93. They do have 16's and all you have to do is swap out the little center caps. And I can't dread Ford. lol They provide plenty of parts for the jeeps and the ranger has been phased out like mj.
nitroxsteve Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 all jeep liberty KJ. All jeep wrangler TJ I thought all TJ wheels were 15". I know the majority of them are. Most are 15 but Rubicon were 16. I think some of the last few years of Cherokee had 16" wheels too.
AMCJeepMJ Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 The 16"x7" Jeep Grand Cherokee Silverstar wheels have been working great for me for the past two years. Came off a 1998 5.9.
shawn Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 i think the 17' crown vic wheels will work too ( although i havent had a chance to confirm this yet). if so, it would be a boon to take advantage of all the good deals ive seen lately on used 17' mud tires.
yxmj Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 all jeep liberty KJ. All jeep wrangler TJ Stock TJ wheels are 15".......

dasbulliwagen Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, and Dodge Chargers have 17" stock steelies in a bullethole pattern, and 18" Cop car steelies in a 5 spoke design and then all the other aluminum rims and sizes. They are 5-4 1/2 with the correct hub centric size as well. These would be good candidates. Ive seen a few guys on Naxja running the 17" steelies with no issues.
MGriff013 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I have two set of 16" wheels for my MJ, one set is from a TJ Rubicon and the other set came off a cherokee but I am not sure what year. I prefer the cherokee wheels just because I think they look better but thats just my opinion. I believe they are the grizzly wheels(gun metal gray 5 spokes)
benjy_26 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 There's some 16x7 ZJ snowflake- looking wheels out there that look pretty cool.
benjy_26 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 http://colorado4wheel.com/jeepwheels/zjwheels.html Check out this page. Apparently, the ones I meant are called the timberlines

I believe they are the grizzly wheels(gun metal gray 5 spokes) Cherokee wheels sound like the Icons that came stock on my 2000 ... same as used on the Liberty ... 16x7 ... they were a nice looking wheel, wish I hadn't traded them off.

I'm not a fan of big rims on an mj, but some look ok, and there's tons of deals out there on bigger tires.
