shawn
thoughts ? http://sunshine.en.craigslist.ca/cto/3514537125.html been texting back and forth with this guy last few days and talked to him today. the car sounds like it's pretty solid. no rust, new tires, lift ( aal, lca's) , winch works well, usb deck, auto-start. wife wants an xj and i like to get up in the mountains. they always cross-ditch the logging roads around here when they finish with them so a lift opens up so much more area for recreation. mnkyboy
Seems steep, its probably a $450 RC lift and 8500lb superwinch is only $299. IMO you should be able to buy a nice stocker and build the same rig for a lot less.
yellaheep
Interesting on how Jeep Cherokee prices vary across the country and other regions. That '94 would be considered a real good buy at $3K here in Colorado.
DirtyComanche
I dunno, doesn't seem like a horrible price for BC to me... But, I didn't really look at the ad, so I'm pretty much just typing gibberish... My point is that US and Canadian prices are normally quite different. Exgrayxj
I don't think that is crazy money, it has the bumper, winch, lift, tires/wheels, etc. Is the paint dead or is that frost? What would concern me is the "recent work". For what reason and how well was it done? And it is that funny Canadian money ... Would be close to that here too. 86customanche
Prices certainly do vary around the world. If its rust free, Id say its a good buy, especially way up north where rust is prevalent.
mnkyboy
I could see that posted here for that much, I just checked my local craiglist and theres similar rigs posted for as much and some even more. But then theres a few late model XJs right around $2000. You just have to shop around for a good deal. Its amazing how much prices can vary on them. ParadiseMJ
IMHO that's a solid price. Seeing that the winch ($300) bumper ($500) and new tires ($5-600) add to the value by $1300+ and the lift too. That's alot of work and $$. I sold a near stock 1990 XJ here for $2800. Rust free, 180K miles. Plus you can't find a parking lot up here without seeing an XJ. I'd at least take a look at it, drive it, off-road, on road, highway etc. Check for leaks. If you find anything negative, there's your wiggle room. If not, buy it.
jimoshel
Carry a wad of cash with you when you go. I'ts amazing how often a firm price will suddenly become flexible when they see the color green.

shawn
well i went down and met him, had a good look and a drive. he ended up taking 2800. and i couldnt be happier. all that was needed was a water pump because the one that was on it was starting to growl. this thing drives awesome and has everything we could want (except power windows). it has never been in the bush or the mud and i guess it was just built up this way for show. winch never used, spotless underneath, really like the stereo, auto start has been handy. plus it inspires me to get stuff done on the comanche, lol. 54bobby
great looking truck. reminds me of my dads 1973 f250. super heavy duty 4x4. bought it brand new, put monster mudders on it along with a lift kit, headers, dual exhaust, an ignition system and it never saw mud and only a little deep snow when hunting. well me and my brother did sink it in a bog when it was a week old. boy did we catch hell for that.
