I'd say your best bet is to get a good strong steel one made. I imagine you could get it made to look like an original one for not a terribly huge sum. Well I would agree its not a bullet proof bumper stock but that being said I have pretty much zero boday damage and not even a scratch on the unibody,.. The rear bumper did what it was supposed to do absorb the impact; had it been stronger it would of transfered the impact to the chassis and that could of killed the truck. As for making one I have all the tools to do so or a roll pan for that matter but to be honest I just want it back to stock,.. and I want them to do it LOL Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The hate inside me for those cars grows stronger everyday,.. It looks ok in the pictures but had pretty significant damage under the plastic. Found something that might interest you if you want stock. A company called Fey makes bumpers for the Comanche. http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/step_bumper/jeep/comanche.html They're apparently pretty strong. Might have to grab one myself. I had to tell him to check the NADA and that is was listed as a classic after he started talking totaling and this was before he looked at it. I have one (i mean I got stuck with one). They are fine regarding strength but they don't look right. I would stay away from them if possible. I describe mine in the following post: http://comancheclub....cs/page__st__40 Also, when I was getting my truck redone, my factory rear bumper was in terrible shape so I tossed it. I'm always concerned some teenage girl is going to texting and slam into and underneath the back of my MJ. Before I moved into the country I was constantly being harassed by the city for the junk cars in my yard. I made the proper appointment to appear before the weekly city commission so I could plead my case and inform them of the difference between junkers and classics. No soap. They didn't buy it. Gave me 30 days to clear the yard or fine-jail time. Picking up my notes I told them that they wouldn't know a classic from a junk if they had one of each shoved up their f*cking *ss. End of meeting.
