Hey all, new here! Saving another (my first) Comanche from ultimate doom. Just wanted to say hey, and show off my truck. I'll make a project thread once I start working on it more. Picked her up for $1600. Needs paint, loses some oil, and the gauges are out of whack. But I love it.

Nice tread, but they gotta go!

Backed into a giant @$$ tire, pitch black and my view was blocked. :dunno:

Interior's in great shape, minus the extremely saggy driver's side.

Bought her with 133k on the clock

Can't forget the stickers. They add 5HP and 2 inches of lift.

So... hey. :wavey:

Hahaha yes. I've quickly turned into a jeep nut, and didn't really think I would. Silly me. I've already seen 79873474 jeeps I wanna add to the collection. It's very nice being one of the only Comanches around my area, and will be the only nice one once I get a lift under her.

There's actually quite a few people with 'manches in washington. And i think i've seen about 10~ people on CC that live in wa.

Don't scrap the turbines.

Oh? People actually like them?

I have them on mine atm. Untill i get 33's & swap them out for some nicer rims.

First of all, a very nice truck to start out with. I don't know what it is, but that int/ext color combo is one of my all-time favorites on an MJ ;) You also lucked out getting it with only 135k on the clock

Secondly,

Don't scrap the turbines.

I personally love the turbines. :chillin: Just picked up a set myself and got 'em put on. If you decide to ever give 'em the proverbial "boot" I'd be more than willing to send a few clams your way for the center-caps. Can't ever seem to find any down here that are worth buying; either that, or people want an arm and a leg for them.

yea some do. I think its due to them being original and kinda rare. If they had some offset to them Id probably use some myself

Welcome.

I am also one of those who didn't think he'd like jeeps. I was all about sporty cars when I was young. Mustangs, Corvettes, etc.

Why would anyone want anything that slow that handles so poorly?

Now I don't have a sports car and have 2 jeeps. The comanche and the wifes TJ. She actually got me started on them. She wanted a jeep so I bought her the TJ back in 97. We still have that same one.

Though, I'd still kill to have a GT500, or a Viper. :brows:

...... :waving:

I was actually looking at your build thread a while ago. Beautiful truck. Not many lifted comanches around us (that I've seen).

Thanks everyone else. :)

Just got a new stereo and front speakers installed in her yesterday. Sounds amazing! Once I sign papers on my new job (hopefully next week), I'm gonna take her back to get a sub and amp, and complete my stereo system for an easy $650. :brows:

Last year a bunch of us went to the "Don't fear the Jeeper" show in Vancouver. It was nice to hang out with other MJ owners.

We will have to do something again.

For some reason... I have a soft spot for this thing:

ford-gt.jpg

Just something about an American car, that can actually handle and looks drop dead gorgeous, just gets me. I am the biggest Mopar guy, but that GT... Drool. I really wish I had paid more attention to the one the Ford dealer I used to work at had. Back then it wasn't on my radar though. Damn shame. How my taste has changed.

Anyway, /hijack.

OP, welcome to the club. Lots of good info here, hope you stick around.

Rob

better get a upgraded wiring harness

Of course. I'm going to get the parts and make it myself, using go-jeep's guide.
