Lunch Food?

back in the day I had a jar of peanut butter, a jar of honey, and some bread in my desk. made my own sandwich right there each day. never did get tired of it. :D think I'll go have one right now...

nowadays, I don't have a job (and am single) and I make my food a gallon or 2 at a time (mostly from scratch). I then divide it up into meal-sized portions using Ziplock's awesome semi-disposabe tupperware and don't have to cook dinner for days. :)

(a side note on the tupperware; the 2 square sizes share the same lids so there's no searching for the right lid  , and they are cheap enough that I don't mind ditching them if something goes wrong. love them!)

upon reflection, I guess I benefit from the ability to eat the stuff I like for days a a time with no risk of boredom. though I imagine there are limits. I certainly don't make the same thing for my dinners each time.

I usually make the same sandwich everyday myself and can get kinda bored with it. I will try to go out to eat once a week or everyother week. If you like Chinese food, I have found these little cartons that you put in the microwave and 5 or 6 min later you have a great meal. No work needed. Just another option (they are extremely cheap at walmart  )

whatever I have time to grab on the way out the door! Sometimes its a 2liter of soda and a bag of chips, other times its left over tri tip steak with apples! poptarts are always close by, and all sorts of granola bars. HungryMan dinnners if I know I a going to have access to a microwave or cans of chili, mac and cheese, tuna, or cans of soup!

and then there is 7-11...

What I like to do is get a half sheet of pizza from my favorite pizza place and eat it sparingly throughout the week. I like to mix it up and order different toppings on my pizza too. I like it cold so sometimes I put ranch dressing or BBQ sauce on it too.

...Don't forget to have a spoon handy.

I look like some sort of weirdo because I grab handfuls of sporks every time I go to taco bell. They are the only ones who still have them. I load up and leave them in my toolbox at work. I always have what I need, be it soup or salad.

It's the most versatile utensil.

I'm the weirdo that empties the napkin dispenser.... Never know when your gonna spill.

I usually take pb&j, gold fish, granola bar, and a couple cuties. I recently switched from strawberry to black berry jelly.... Sometimes I mix it up and take a salami sandwich, the kind with the pepper in it.

Occasionally if I'm at home I have a peanut butter and dill pickle sandwich. My grandpa used to eat those...

I usually take a snack pack pudding, a yogurt, handful of granola bars, optional bag of microwave popcorn and three sandwiches. I try to keep my sandwiches mixed up so I don't get sick of anything, but all time favorites are meatloaf (the home made stuff), egg salad, chicken salad and cookie.

Yes, a cookie sandwhich. Butter two slices of bread, put two speculaas cookies (a spiced Dutch/German cookie) in between them and enjoy. Learned this in 5th grade camp, and never outgrew it.

Also European staples like choclate flakes or Nutella.

I also like Heinz sanwich spread (the Dutch variety), but after 25 years I still have not found it in North America yet.

I'd say what I eat for lunch everyday, but I'm in Culinary school so it changes delicious everything everyday! Well some days not so much, so I opt for smoked turkey, swiss, and dijon mustard!

Luckyyyyyy. In my Napolian Dynamite voice.

Maybe you have some good lunch ideas for us.

I'm sure I'm not the only one sick of eating the same stuff.

Lol. Thanks!
