I fished my rear end off for those when I lived up there, no joy. A big sturgeon is on my "kick it" list. I also left plenty of Roosevelt Elk for you too. Never killed a one, but I did make most of the herd up there much smarter about how to avoid hunters.

Buddy of mine this past week got a 60 in sturgeon through the ice fishing for walleyes on Lake of Woods in northern MN this past week.

 

I have been getting a limit or more (never take fish home) of crappies on every outing so far this year through the ice on local lakes around my house.

Crappies must be jumpin' this year. The wife and I went up to Lake George (by Itasca) over the past weekend and we couldn't get enough of them! Finished the weekend with a cute little bass.

Good haul for the day...i live up here in the upper rouge (Shady Cove) and live behind a fishing shop...i see bloody boats all the time ;) this year i gave the fish a break and didnt get my tags, but damn right next year its ON!...hoping to buy a dirfter by summer time. :clapping:

how did you catch that i was usein the smallest hooks they have here and i couldnt get them things hooked

Minnow trap. I use them to catch big crappie in mid-winter. :cheers:
