You know, I have been wondering the same thing lately and I don't see why you couldn't use your old shock Mount plate. just flip it over to the top of the leaf spring. Can anyone tell me why this isn't a good idea?

i know its been awhile sence i been here, but never gave up the comanches. :thumbsup: So tuesday one of my customers from work stoped by my house while i was working on the 87 and asked if it was for sale, told him $2500 and he can have it haha. he told me about a shortbed 4.0 5speed down the road thats been parked awhile and guy wanted $300 for it. after talking to him he said he didnt want it because its a unibody :hmm: so yesterday i pull in to this shady @$$ rv park (think 3 people living in a 30ft RV) and 40 of these shabby places in this park. I find the comanche and go knock on the door, guys a tweak job forsure! Talking with him he told me it was a 88 and the engine was torn down because it smoked alittle and he wanted to fix it before it got worse. pop the hood and he only had it torn down to the head gasket but everything looked to be there, i told him i was interesed in it for parts and would give him $200 and he jumped on it, so i paid the man, got the title and towed it out of there with a quickness.... get it home and start looking round... its a 89 with a ax15! pull the carpet up and NO RUST! hell yes i scored right?!?! looking at the title....TOTALED RECONSTRUCT! DAMN IT!!!! start looking around can't find anything that looks like its been repaired other then the smashed in door? :hmm: oh well i don't plan of selling it anyways :cheers: on with some pics :clapping:

:agree: I just went threw this yesterday with my 87 and it 1 peice axle convers. Broke 3/4 breaker bar with 4 foot pipe on it, borrowed a eltric impact and BOOM done!

Kobalt, husky, Crapsmen. Who would you go with? i know alot will say Crapsmen, but i have a sour taste in my mouth after i tryed to return some ratchets today and they gave me some refurb ones with chipped chrome and wanted to charge me .30 cents...needless to say i didn't pay the .30 cents, and i got brand new ones. Plus i break there tools all the time. from what i been reading both the kobalt and husky have a crappy return policy, any experience with returns? can't afford snap-on/mac thanks guys

So i disconnected the turn signal switch and now my dash lights don't come on when i hit the brakes, I can't tell if my brake lights work till my wife gets home from work tho. I'm sure they should still work, but ya never know. Went ahead and cleaned the ground behind the tail light sence I was out there and it wasn't that bad, looks as if the PO knew about the ground issue. Will keep you updated, thanks guys :)

Both have done It sence the day I got them. Both were purchased from different peoplebut have same problem. I tryed cleaning up the grounds on the 86 and didn'timprove anything, ill give it a go on the 87 today sence ill behome with the sick kiddie. Thanks guys ill keep ya posted.

Yea i know about mj grimlins.... And yes my break lights come on Along with my front furn signals. Think it might be in the switch? I'll dig into it more tomorrow

I'm thinking more of a mix of the first to. like the first pic, but with it coming up over the cab. the overland tent is SICC!, but i don't think i could reproduce that and make it affordable. Not looking to make money on this, just maybe sell a few at my cost. i'll make up a MS paint to give an idea of what I'm thinking.
