So sitting here picking my noodles and was thinking about truck bed tents, anyone have one? What design do you like? I have a friend who makes sheets and other crap out of hemp, and has a huge roll of hemp canvas and thinking I could put something together for our comanches. My head hurts with all these idears :wall:

Ok this must be a common prob, when I press the brake all my lights inside the cab turn on, my 86 2.5 5 speed did it, and the 87 4.0 5 speed that I picked up also does it, anyone else have the same problem if so how did you fix it? I'll take a vid and post it up here in a bit.

you know you can't just unbolt the cab and remove it right? its half unibody

I have my 94 xj with me...I been refusing to lookin behind me and in the mirrors........kinda helps lol

Been away from home sence the 11th... Sitting in bisbee having lunch and relies I miss my mjs. In the 1800 miles I have driven I have only seen 1 shortbed...I'm sad, that is all

From what i remember the striker changed in 97 with the new doors.

Had my xj for a few years and we needed a second car so I jumped on cl and first thing I seen was a 86 mj. Blown head gasket and wanted 300. Kept looking around but kept going back to the add cuz I had never seen one. Asked the guy if he would take 200 and didn't hear anything back, month later I get a call asking if I was still interested and told him I had to think about it. After few days I offered him 100 and a speaker box and he jumped on it. Hooked tow dolly to my xj and went and got it. Got it home change all the fluids and been driving ever sense. Figured out the head gasket wasn't blown was just alittle water in oil from sitting. That's what started my addiction, now I have 2 and been looking at another.

Is it a stock 30? If so just pick up a used one from cl and build it. Less down time on your dd. Just my 2 cents.

From what I understand they inter change threw all the years . I know an 86 door bolted on my 94 with no problems that I remember

If you want to go cheap, expect an incomplete, rough riding, half thought out piece of crap." so are you saying that the hells creek/rough country/Motion are all cheap, incomplete rough riding pieces of crap? :dunno: Price seems to be right around $500 and look to be pretty complete, minus a few things. Never hurd a bad thing about Hells Creek or motion. My biggest thing is the shipping...a $150 to ship what 50-80lbs? i have worked in shipping and rec most of my working years, and have shipped bigger heavyer things for less. I have 1K or so to do lift and tires (31 maybe 33) so i need to be staying with around 500 on the lift. Its not a DD its a weekend warrior that can drive to and from trails. Not trying to be an @$$ Just not understanding.

yea thats kinda what I'm thinking...Pricing crap sucks... think I'm just going to go with a 4.5 lift in the front and do a SOA in the rear.. got some 1in pucks around here some place to level the front when done...just need to find a site that has all the front parts i need so i don't have to order from 5 diff places..

anyone know where i can get a 4.5in lift for under 500 shipped? maybe 550. I found a few kits i was interested in, but the shipping kills it for me...150 bucks to ship? comon...i have shipped heavery/bulker things for less

ohh thats the 9 days in AZ while the wife is with family......was just talking to my wife last night about strapping some 97+fenders to the top of the Xj on the way home hahaha

ahahaha yea its alittle tempting...i will be bringing a few extra bucks incase i find something i can't live with out :-) a MJ trailer would go nice with my fleet tho Hows the drive between reno and vagas? Will defiantly lay on the horn on my way past :thumbsup:

Wow didnt even see your post frank...not a half bad idea if i can find one for a good price not set on sac, jus a filler...Been to San fran many times and love it...going down this friday to say good bye to a dear friend. been thinking about leaving AZ a day early and stopping in lugna to see wifes aunt and stay there and travel the 1 up to sanfran. return trip we may just wing it and have some fun hmm off to look for MJ trailers :-)

lol i had a few :cheers: last night. but after looking at things in a better light :D I'm thinking Day 1: Medford to Henderson. Day 2: Henderson to Hoover Dam, on to GC then to Flagstaff. Day 3: Flagstaff to Meteor Crater on to Phoenix, maybe on to Tucson. where we will stay Return trip Day 1: Tucson to Yuma Day 2: Yuma to Sac Day 3: Sac to Medford This will leave us 9 day is Tucson/Phoenix area to visit and have day trips to other places (Phoenix Zoo/Tombstone/Copper mines). i know there are some long drives in there, but my wife will be with me and loves to drive so we can switch off when needed. I'm sure things will change between now and the time we leave but this sounds pretty good. also any things we should see on the way back? Thanks for the input Ocean, i never new about the Meteor Crater :-) This is mostly for my wife to see her dad, but want to make it an epic trip for our 7yr old. :-)

Thinking about taking the wife and kid from So.Oregon to phoenix AZ to visit in-laws. 15 days including travel time. So.Oregon to henderson NV. Sleep there continue on to Hoover Dam in the Am. after hoover dam bum on down to phoenix. want to make a trip to tombstone on one of the days on way back I'm thinking hitting the grand cannon and staying near Sanfran over night. what else would you do? i'll be driving my 2wd 94 XJ so no trail riding this time :-( also what kinda check list would you do before leaving? just looking for ideas
