64 Cheyenne Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Mojo,(the Red Heeler in my avatar) My friend and companion of 10yrs went away today. I had to have him euthanized today. He went deaf a short time ago, he had tumors growing on his body. 5 days ago he stopped eating. Told myself I don't want to post this, but then I realized he is in my avatar and in some pics of my builds, he deserves to be remembered here also.
xjrev10 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Now hes in dog heaven riding in a MJ with his tongue flappin in the breeze!
ComancheKid45 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Losing a Dog is no different than losing a best friend :( He'll still be the happy Dog he was when you get to meet him again someday .
HOrnbrod Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Agree, am sorry for your loss. Best thing for you right now is to do is get a new Heeler pup. It helps.
terrawombat Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I am very sorry to hear this. Losing a four-legged loved one is never easy.
meljr Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I feel for you. I'm at an age where it is probable my dog will outlive me. I would prefer it that way and as someone said "I'd like to be the man my dog thinks I am". -meljr
jimoshel Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I have felt a deeper loss upon the passing of some of my 4 legged friends than I have with the passing of many people I knew. Cheyenne, I am sorry for your loss. Jim
fiatslug87 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 My deepest condolences, it's always difficult to know when it's the right time, but when they stop eating and have other complications it's time. Remember the good times and he'll always be with you.
dakal Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 both my dogs are dead. it was a sad day. they were wonderful friends. sorry.
Paul Bruchal Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I'm sorry for your lose :( I'm my family, when a relative passes, we don't get sad or cry, we celibate a happy life that was lived to its fullest.
bgred2 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I know the feelin, I had to put my Yellow Lab down on March 20th. It just hurts so bad......
BlueMoon Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Sorry, somehow never really covers one's heart when they loose a part of their family. I can only say most of us here know only too well what their hearts feel deep to the core. When one's best bud, riding pal, slobbery kisses and those one in a million "looks" they gave us are no more. I offer a distant hug to ya. I too lost too many of my canine pals over the years and said time after time..."no more pups...it hurts toooo much". Then one day, out of the blue, wham...it hits you...you see this new muttnik..and you're hooked. One can NEVER replace a lost love, but one MUST put their hearts back out there and love again. Some people can't grasp, nor will they ever, the emptiness, the tears, the heartache of having to put our pups to sleep...that's their loss, amigo. I put my heart out yet again...I have a new pup...well he aint no pup...he's a LUNATIC....crazy as a loon...so I named him LOONEY....he's an Austrailian Sheperd....My first experience with this breed. My only regret his I'm not young enuff or healthy enuff to give him all he needs. I offer what I can, when I can. He's amazing...you can actually see the "gears" moving around in his head when he looks at you. So, my distant MJ bud.....give time to grieve...jeesh..you never stop grieving...but do what is right by you, but remember this... What would he want for you?.....And also, it's ok to cry...REAL men know...crying is a part of life...I do...and I'm not ashamed at all to admit it! But when you're at your lowest...thinking of your bud...don't you...out of the blue....get this big grin or start laughing remembering all the times you shook you head at the quirks he had..and those NEVER fade...It DOES get better.
