mj Mike Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 I've got some bed engine movement / vibration. I'm going to swap to polyurethane motor mounts & poly trans mount.
mj Mike Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 Lots of noises in the front end! the only things that is still stock on the front Axle, are the unit baring hubs & the Axle shafts I R&R the new hubs today. Remove Reinstall
500 MJ Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Done that Unit Bearing job a time or two... good choice on the Timken replacement.
tbraz Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 I've got some bed engine movement / vibration. I'm going to swap to polyurethane motor mounts & poly trans mount. I've been following your thread for a while. Your jeep is amazing. On the engine movement may i suggest - http://www.nc4x4.com/2011/05/its-just-m ... nts-right/
mj Mike Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 thanks for the good feed back & great suggestion on the motor mounts !!! i still have front end noise! I checked the track bar & noticed play in the axle side. the bolt is tight but the track bar still has play. I removed the track bar & noticed the stock bolt (3/8) is way to small for the hole in the axle! It fits the sleeve in the rubber bushing on the TNT track bar. Is hardened so i can't drill it out. So i burned out the rubber bushing! I have A spar track bar with a poly bushing . i used the poly bushing with a 7/16 bolt & it still is not a tight fit in the hole on the axle side. looks like i am gona drill it up to 1/2 (3/8) (7/16)
dakal Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 had to drill mine out. takes a while.. i also went to 1/2, # 5. bend not break is my creed.
mj Mike Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 thanks, I went today & got 1/2 grade 8 bolts w/ nylon lock nuts & got it bolted backup ;) & i got my poly trans mount today :brows:
mj Mike Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 i ordered some more poly track bar bushings. MOOG Part # K3176 now that i know about the stock undersized T/B bolt, i will fix it on all my jeeps drilled them up to 1/2 :clapping:
mj Mike Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 I removed my bench seat & converted a set of XJ bucket sliders to the MJ pedestals. i have some Beard suspension seat to mount. Then i febed up some adapter brackets to mount the Beard seats to the XJ sliders.
mj Mike Posted June 17, 2011 Author Posted June 17, 2011 about 6 month ago i mounted a 10'' Hayden electric fan to my rad support using to self tapping screws on top & to zip ties on bottom  i fabed a simple fan shroud using some aluminum sheet metal i had lying around fits like a glove!
codymanche Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 the seats look good man thats what i wanna do and put 5pt harnesses in. what all did u use again xj sliders and the seats howd u mount them to the sliders
mj Mike Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Thanks Bro! eventually I will get a set of 5 points, after my cage I used the DIY: (Making XJ buckets work in a MJ) http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8093&start=0 then we fabbed adapter brackets that bolt on top of the sliders: :brows:
codymanche Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 do u think mj bucket seat bracket will work
Comanche County Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I have recently seen the light of anti-seize, if it has threads, it gets it, anything metal on metal gets it, I put it on everything and anything unless it requires lock-tight or grease. Just a suggestion, but being a dezert manche you don't have to worry about rust that much. May help with the metal on metal wear though.
snowboard3r411 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 god dam you got some nice fab skills. sexy @$$ truck
FKreider Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 i must have missed it but what is your rear suspension set up. I know you have the u bolt eliminators but where did you get them? also what springs are you running?
