Does anyone use CB radios any more?

I've got a pair old amateur CB radios in the cupboard I thought I might chuck in my vehicles but no one seems to sell gear for them I anywhere!

Are they technically obsolete now? That seems to be what people say when I mention CB's. What do truckers use these days?

Mine are about 20 yrs old, but they still work fine.

they are definitely not obsolete. i consider them mandatory trail equipment, i won't wheel with someone that doesn't have a cb, you gotta communicate on the trail. they're also great in the tow vehicle, so you can keep in contact with the whole convoy at one time if you have a group towing their rigs down. cell phones have replaced them a lot, but a cell phone isn't gonna give you open free contact back and forth with your whole group at once.

Theres a few local places around here that sell CB stuff. I use mine a lot

alot of truck stops also have a pretty good assortment of CBs and parts/accessories.

Keep them, they will come in handy on the trail. That is if, you don't roam alone.

2 way radios are what we use up here and all the mines to

I love having them, I put 1 in both my Jeeps, even on the Interstate its nice to be able 2 get answers about traffic issues. They are also great on the trails as mentioned

Cool, so that's adds another job for me at the weekend along with pulling the dash, installing new plugs and dizzy. Gotta find a good shop for ariels and stuff now :thumbsup:
