crazyjim
And completely flushed the side of their MJ? I had them off yesterday, curious as to how it would look with no vents at all...
Pete M
I've seen a photo of an MJ like that, so at least one person has done it. Those are the pressure-equalizing ports so I'm not sure if it's all that wise of an idea to seal them. on the other had, my trucks all leak like sieves so they may not be that necessary. :dunno: plus there's the almighty Thunder Chief. :D

Geonovast
There's an MJ in Camdenton that has them removed. I haven't gotten close, hopefully next time I see it I'll be able to stop. But from a distance, it looks ok if done properly.

pilotblake
I like the vents. Makes these trucks easier to identify in the weeds when driving down the back roads.

MJ is dead
A few years ago I saw a black mj that had replaced his vents with diamond plate, looked...ok...
crazyjim
Hmmmm not sure if I like the look or not... anybody else? I'm worried it'll be too bland there without it. Like this? your image didn't show up..

jpnjim
Yellow longbed, with no vents. tho I had to paste the address in another window to see it.
ParadiseMJ
I did not like them at first and considered the diamond plate idea, but after cleaning things up (and figuring out how they went on) they're growing on me. It definitely makes MJ's easier to identify, as if.
MJ is dead
Ditto. I gotta figure out how to pop them off and spray them with some SEM trim black sometime soon

ggcnash
I recently saw an eliminator with shaved cab vents, it made me find this old thread. What I'm wondering is if one was to do this would you install a cab vent elsewhere, or would you let it go since our trucks aren't exactly air tight anyways? 88whitemanche
Previous owner on my truck shaved the can vents but the truck just doesn't look right without them so I out them back on...but there's a truck here with the can vents mounted on the hood.... http://comancheclub.com/topic/31624-project-silver-and-black/page-7 My truck without the cab vents

Did the PO of your truck worry about venting elsewhere. If not have you noticed any ill effects? In the link i noticed the orange truck with cab vents on hood, but no mention of them in thread? Very cool idea, I'm sure he had to cut and open up the plastic vents surely not just cosmetic?
88whitemanche
No he didn't do any extra venting anywhere...he just foam the vents up then primered the whole body including the vents...once I knew sort of how to remove the primer around that area I removed the primer and put the pcs back on.... That build irrc he bought that truck like that from a members(jbain) friend that already had the cab vents into the hood...

Roost426
Would be weird to see one without, they are sort of iconic on these trucks I think and as said make them easy to spot quickly.
