ok, whats the deal. they're in a life boat (with american captain i understand). we're america, navy war ships, navy seals, high power sniper rifles and so on. we've given them food and water....whats the deal, why are we farting around with them

 

navy seals can't sneak up on these idiots and wipe them out like stephen segal???

 

we gave them food and water-that couldn't have been drugged and everyone on the boat take a nap????

 

high power sniper can't be floated close enough on one of our ships to take them out???

 

captain has tried to swim away, once he got away a little ways, we couldn't have lit those suckers up???

 

i mean we're holding all the cards, what the heck is going on???

:agree: I have been following the storys about thoose pirates in the newspapers, and i can't see what the problem is? EU, USA, norway, china, japan, russia, we all have navy ships patroling the area and they can't do anything about it?? :???:

considering as it is an enclosed lifeboat with 1 door good luck shooting. The idea is to get the captain back alive. Preferably with no new holes. Snipers are great, but shooting from one slightly bobbing platform at another one that is bobbing much more due to the lower weight is going to make that a difficult shot at best. Seriously, where are they going to go. They will give up eventually.

 

The entire situation needs to be handled. Enough screwing around. Stop trying to capture pirates, just sink them and move on. When we sink enough ships they will decide that there are better ways to make money out there.

I believe we're hitting a wall with the international laws of the open seas. Apparently we can't just blow a random ship out of the water if we think they're pirates. :dunno: And non-military ships aren't allowed to carry weapons or something like that. Truly a frustrating debacle.

 

And speaking of frustrating debacles, who the heck keeps giving Steven Seagal the lead roles in these craptastic movies the last few years? :nuts:

Oh yeah. Check his wiki page. I've only even heard of 2 and one of those was something I caught on tv just the other day. Dang was it bad. I think it was a french movie. The english was most certainly dubbed in. Seagal's voice didn't even sound like it was Seagal doing the dubbing. :shake:

Seriously, thats the best idea ever. Some sleeping pills in the Koolaid, sleeping pill laced brownies and other things. Everyone falls quietly asleep and wakes up in jail. Everyone's happy...except the pirates

here's the story, i still haven't heard more details i wanna hear. but the 3 of the 4 idiots are dead and the other surrendered.

The pirates in the lifeboat didn't understand that they were holding nothing. I guess they don't play Texas Hold'um in Somalia. No hole card, no sleeve card, the other guy had all the aces. They had a lifeboat. not a ship ... so there was no value in either the boat or the cargo. They had ONE hostage -- they couldn't exactly say "Let us go and give us 12 million dollars or we'll kill a hostage every hour." One shot, and they would have been toast anyway.

 

The smart move would have been to surrender and spend the next 20 - 40 years in a nice, clean prison where every day brings three hots and a cot.

 

Oh, well ... life is full of choices.

 

Now their mates on shore are vowing "revenge." I think it's time for all the armies of the world to team up and just march through that stinkin' hole from one end to the other, and clean out the whole mess.

Problem is that "we", the self proclaimed leader of the free world, ASSuME these animals think and reason as "we" do. They freeking do not, and will continue doing what they do, as will all the other terrorist factions/groups around the world. The politicians will never realize this. I agree with you Eagle, we should march through that stinkin' hole from one end to the other, and clean out the whole mess. Not only in Somalia, but all the other stink holes too. But of course we never will, as we have not in Korea, Nam, Iraq, etc. etc. This was a small microcosm example of our foreign policy since WW2. We were damn lucky on this one..........

We have the abiilty to find them so let the Destroyers do there thing. We could even send a 5 millon dollar ship in as bait. Just have it full of Navy Seals and equiped with topedo launchers. Have a Destroyer and an Aircraft carrier ready to show them how it's done

and this is logical to them, so we're the a holes? they are "pirates" and act like we did the wrong thing. i think we were way too patient as it is. i say zero tolerance.

 

and thats a pretty bold statement, saying your making us your number one enemy. i know previous presidents would make tht unacceptable. but our president is bowing to saudi kings and basically on "the world apologetic tour" i really hope this isn't a sign of things to come. this country better stand strong, and not put up with this bs.
