sliding back glass

Was playing with mine, broke the glass. Can't believe I was that dumb. Anyway, being the novice I am, I want another one. Best way to go about it?

find another one in a junkyard or online, an OEM/factory piece. Install it yourself or have a glass shop do it. I've seen some very poorly fitting aftermarket rear sliders for Comanche's.

Is your slider 3-piece or 4-piece? The factory sliders were 3-piece.

If it's a 3 peice you'll have to replace the entire back glass. They are factory sealed and there is no way to get a new slider in there.

 

I had the same problem and made a new slider out of clear plastic. Cut to fit and then bend it in. From a distance you can't tell the difference, but it doesnt seel out moisture/heat/cold very well.

 

Best part is if you lock your keys in the cab you can punch it out and grab em' (depending on how much of a contortionist you are, and ofcourse where the keys are in your truck :brows: )

Best bet it to find one in a junkyard. Take an old guitar string and a friend with you so you can saw it loose from the truck. They are glued in like a windshield...

Or buy an extractor blade for a sawsall and do it that way - best way.

Do you have a picture of the 4 panel installed in your truck?

Is it a CRL?

Did the gasket fit back in easily?

I can't ever get the pics to post right for some reason , the site is astrucks.com . There is no gasket for the aftermarket it has to be glued in like you winshield . They are a nice piece though frame all black dark tint it is the cr laurence window.

Having both the 3 panel and the 4 panel slider, the 4 lite give you a wider opening ;)
