SuperWade2
Had a buddy years ago with an 88 GT that was FAST!! I don't remeber all what he had done as far as aftermarket parts, but the thing weighed next to nothing and was QUICK
watchamakalit
I had a black one that was kinda trashy. It was only the 4cyl but was pretty quick. Its amazing the difference a well balanced power to weight ratio can make.
mvusse
When I was younger (and married) I wanted to buy one, but my wife wouldn't let me for fear I'd kill myself doing something stupid in it. She was probably right. Are you aware a 300 hp 4.6l Northstar out of a Cadillac fits in that engine bay? Imagine a 300 hp engine in a less than 3000 pound car... Eagle
'86? Was that late enough to be built after they had corrected the Fiero's propensity to live up to its name, and self-immolate?
comancheman
no its one of the ones that tended to light on fire but I'm willing to look past that.
jtdesigns
They tend to have overheating issues.. Did they ever have a 4 cyl??
comancheman
yeah a 4cyl was available in all years. they were made from 85-88 i believe 86 was the first year for the v6 and the first year for the fastback body style

WahooSteeler
you need to put the ferrari body kit on it, then lift it and put 26s on it. i bet nobody in the hood has done that yet! oh, yeah, it's a fiero, that's why LOL. :D

I helped him one weekend gut the interior of a few of them that he had...

SoloCamo
Not trying to sound rude here, as I almost picked up a fiero myself but to call one quick it's well, just not right. Those things are far from fast...Fun yes, fast no.
pingpong
I had one too  I actually loved that car. I would say they are reasonably fast.. especially considering it is a 2.5. Mine was an Automatic, which from what I found later was kinda a rarity.

Those things are far from fast...Fun yes, fast no. I thought a 12 Second Quarter Mile was pretty solid for what it was running... That's a fairly heavily modified one, though (engine swap, or extensive mods to the 2.8v6 ). Don't get me wrong here, I love fiero's and as I said almost picked one up; but bone stock they are far from what I would consider fast.

His was heavily modified, and it was probably in the top 5 fastest cars that I've been in, ever...

LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
Their is a local guy who's into them BIG TIME. He's done several Northstar 24V conversions in them. They are quick. Their was an article on him in one of the big name mags about the conversions. I'll see if I can find it...
