  1. I'd trade the MJ as an even swap for it. :D Something I wandered about the auction. It said he just finished it the first of January. Why sell it a little over a month later?
  2. Don't miss out. $37,000 and it can be yours. Click me It would be fun to have but a little pricey for me.
  3. Here's a link with the different China jeeps. I think that grille is actually there version of the grand cherokee vice the super cherokee. The supers slots are a lot bigger. http://www.worldstyling.com/web/product ... hp?id=3012
  4. Image Not Found  OH MY GOD, MY EYES. J/K That's quite a bit of chrome you have there. Looks good.
  5. I've found out that trying to base my decisions on cost, usually cost me more in the long run. I try to base them on what I really want and then find the best deal. Sometimes it takes awhile and sometimes the want goes away. Anyhow, here is a link for both to give you an idea of cost new. Teraflex UCA's RE LCA's Not saying this is the best price out there, just an example. I'd be interested if want to sell and the price is right. :brows:
  6. The uppers are teraflex and the lowers are RE.
  7. Good score. I saw my first MJ amc20 on ebay this week. 4.10 wms to wms, $200 +shipping. Click Here

    see ya in a week

:rotfl2: That's kinda cute. How bout this one. J/K I like Mickey's place too.
  9. I think it was a good deal. You couldn't have got them all separately for that price. Well unless your JY has a half off day. Nice snipe on the auction. Less than a second before it ended. :clapping:
  10. Nice find for $79! I made a rime. :teehee: I got mine for $49 on my half off day. :nanner: But you did get a locker. Sell or swap the gears and carrier with locker for the right gears and carrier you need. You'll find a taker.
  11. A couple of things to consider when removing the decals. 1. The paint underneath them will be as shinny as the day it was painted.(unless you have that rust thing they talk about but I don't think you have to worry about that.) 2. Once they are removed you will still see the outlines. They leave a slight ridge that my paint shop hated. They had to do alot more sanding than they wanted to. 3. Use a heat gun and they peal right off, however you have to be carefull not to scorch the paint. I also had a couple of spots that lifted the paint when I pealed mine off. I have always like the pioneer decals over all the others and would love to put them back on but with the dark gray now on the MJ, they wouldn't stand out as well. If you are going to paint the truck later, I would assume that you would get new decals, so peal them off and see how you like it.
  12. It has over 200k on the ticker. It is a nice price but, I paid about that much for the 88 with zero body rot. I guess I'm spoiled or have been influenced by JeepcoMJ to only pay a few hundred dollars for MJ's. Also I'd rather spend $850 on that one on ebay with no rust. :brows: Always a better deal somewhere. I did go by and see it, even had the wife with me with her blessing to buy if I wanted it. My want is not a need right now with the other two Jeep projects but for the right price, I'll not pass up a good buy. :D
  13. I would do it if I was sure I could drive it back. Just use up some frequent flyer miles to fly there. Was looking at this one http://norfolk.craigslist.org/car/566999281.html , but it must have came from a little further north. Looks good at 15-20 feet, but them darn termites are underneath and starting to poke out above the rear fender flares. :redX:
  14. I'm just about done with ebay. I'm trying to resolve a bad purchase right now. I would love to see it fall for something better. I like craigslist, but that too has some problems. At least it's free. I'm onboard with the boycott, except I think I'll make it permanent. Think of how much time I could have to do better things like wrench on the Jeeps.
  15. South of me. :brows: Down in ol Northe Kack-a-Lacky. :D The state zoo is in Ashboro. Could make a family outing of it.
  16. Looks like a case of those metal eating termites.
  17. Another fine example of a southern MJ. Look at this! If it wasn't almost a 5 hour drive, I'd be on it. Hope one of yall Carolina boys scoop this one up and give it a good home.
  18. Why would you consider this as "restored"? Doesn't that imply that it is suppost to be like factory condition. Wasn't aware that rips in the seat cushions and faded interior came stock.
  19. I was planning on retaining the mj cables and adjuster. Just using the cable from the xj brake handle to the mj adjuster. I brain farted on the length though. :thwak: I haven't looked under the donor neither to see what the cable looked like. :fool: Will look around the JY this weekend for a cable that will be a direct swap so I don't have to make one. With all the different makes and models, there is bound to be one.
  20. I'm planning on doing this as well with my build. I haven't got that far yet but I was thinking a 2dr XJ cable may be close to what would work. I figure it can't be too hard to make something work. Routing, as you noted, "it's not a straight shot", may be the hard part. Will watch how this turns out.
  21. I agree with not using any kind of tar. The asphalt stuff you referred to is called a water and ice barrier. It is very plyable and has a peal and stick backing. You could use it, but it would be a pain to get back off and if water did get under it, it would rot your floor boards away. Probably wouldn't be to bad on the inside door panels and above the headliner.
  22. It shouldn't be too difficult. All you would need to do is fab up a mount that would tie into you frame and go to the bumper mounting holes. The holes on the TJ bumper are about 2 inches different from the MJ frame width. Thing to consider though, the TJ bumpers are staight and will not contour to the curve of the MJ front. Also they are not to beefy. After all they are just flat stock that has been bent into a U. Since your getting both, you may consider using the material to fab up one for just the front. Just my .02.
  23. If yours is a manual tranny, make sure fluid is not leaking out of the clutch master cyclinder down on the fuse panel. That will cause all kinds of strange problems as things start shorting together.
  24. Speed at given rpm in OD with 4.56s and 31s. Your in the ball park. The spreadsheet I used is broken down in 5 mph increments. It came up with at 125 mph you would be at 4823 rpm's. Here's a link CLICK HERE. They may work for you as they have them in different formats.
  25. Thanks. I can't take alot of credit. I got most the info from here and there. Just thought I'd add pics to help out. That one was a 2dr and I'm pretty sure we'll use them instead of the rockers. I'll give you first dibs on the next set of black 2dr buckets I come across. Pat got the last 2 sets from me so I don't think he'll want another set.
