  1. Glad to see someone from the forum got it. Nice score.
  2. I'm 6'1", and my GF is 5'2", so they will definitely get adjusted, glad to see your's holding up well for this long. I'd really rather not cut in a late model power mirror adjusting switch in the otherwise nice/boring/stock 89' interior. An XJ defroster switch to control the heat would not look out of place on the dash tho, and flicking a switch beats stopping to scrape mirrors in a snow storm  For the 88 I hooked them up. Made a pigtail from the new hareness to the old and will use the old switch that goes in the center console. Wiring "how to" can be found here. If I had got the ones that were heated, the plan was to put it in the rear defrost switch or rear wiper switch location since my dash harness is from an XJ and has the wiring there that I could tap in to.
  3. I put them on my 86 and didn't hook them up. They have worked just fine using them manually. Have been on there over a year.
  4. Here I thought that they were 10 inch. "got me the strangest woman believe me this trick's no cinch but I really get her going when I whip out my big 10 inch record of a band that plays the blues well a band that plays its blues she just love my big 10 inch record of her favorite blues"
  5. What would be even funnier is that the owner doesn't know what it means. EDIT: Wait a minute. Is that some religious sticker on the window? I bet that they don't know and that it's their initials: BUK KAK and they thru the E in for some reason like the BUKKAK was already taken. :rotfl2:
  6. Usually when that happens is because someone has reported it as offensive. If he could have showed the DMV that it meant something else, he could have kept it.
  7. PM sent.
  8. I think it may boil down to what the trailer was designed for and local/state codes. Most small trailers use either the 5 on 5 or 5 on 4.5 in that order. Backspacing may be a factor with what rims you use. If the canyon rims like whats on your truck work, idealy you would have the same tire and rim combo on the trailer that way you only have to worry about having one spare that fits all. I've pulled trailers with and without springs and much prefer the ones with springs. I not sure on bike trailers but it would seam to me that the bike is going to take some punishment without any kind of cushioning from the axle. I've also notice that it's easier to blow out a tire hitting potholes and curbs with the ones without springs. I guess cause there is not enough give with just the tire absorbing all of the impact. This has been my experience at least.
  9. There is no known aftermarket support for these and the very last one in the dealers stock was sold a few months back. I know, I called on it just to have the guy say, yes he had it but, it was ordered by one of his regular customers. He called the guy to see if he still wanted it and the guy promptly showed up to get it. My glass guy searched all his suppliers and found nothing. So, your only hope is to get one from the JY or if you decide to go with a aftermarket slider, they come with there own style of gasket if any. I know the CRL one I put on the 86 did not have a gasket.
  10. Don you old salt you. I had the honor of flying in a civilian one while I was in. Thing was older than I was I think. Road pretty good but still a bit loud. Only real time that I was scared was when the pilot said it was the first time he has landed on a Arleigh Burke class destroyer before. They had to do a sim landing to see how it would fit. As you know, helo's don't float well after they roll off the flight deck. Good luck on your training.
  11. If I had money to spare, I'd pick this up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT
  12. My 86 has the serpentine belt. I think I'm goint to pull the head first. It's either that or list it in the classifieds. I've really lost interest in it and I think it could be more useful to someone else. Since it's having problems it will probably get parted, which was what it was originally bought for. I'm looking for a 2dr XJ for a future mod but need a dependable DD for the son to get back and forth to school until I get the 88 on the road. We'll see how it goes in the next couple of days.
  13. I figured it would run rough, that's interesting. First time it went, it did steam. It may have cause head gasket damage then as it went again about ten days or so later. That's when I swapped the radiator because the old one was leaking around the fill spout. It went again two days later. My son added a the gallon of premixed coolant then and it still didn't fill it up.
  14. I thought about that but it still runs and sounds the same as it always has. I figure if it was going through the engine out the rear that the engine would be running rough. Right? Since it's an open system I'm pretty sure it was full plus I topped off the overflow. Like I said it ran fine for 2 days before it overheated again. I thought maybe the thermostat but it would have overheated pretty quick with it not working. The heat is working just fine so I know there is flow. :dunno:
  15. Blow-by pretty bad, which I've lived with, but now it's overheating. Funny thing is, I don't know where the coolant is going. Nothing under the truck, no steam anywhere, just disappearing. It's not in the crankcase either. Had a leaking radiator but I swapped in another and ran for a couple of days fine then overheated again. Seeing how when I bought the truck, reportedly it didn't run, I think over a year as a DD, it has done well. I'm really short on the green stuff, so swapping the engines is the cheapest way out. Although, the 88 ran fine, it did have a tap in the low in so I don't know how long it will last. I hate to say it, but I'm leaning to just getting rid of it. :(
  16. Well, the 86's motor is not doing so good. So I'm thinking about swapping in the motor that came out of the 88. I'll retain all the auxillaries from the 86 i.e. atl, steering pump, a/c, etc but there is a noticeable difference in the vacuum lines and some electrical plugs. I figure I could swap throttle bodies to eliminate most of this problem. Are there any other differences that I need to be aware of? Will the ECU have any problems with the 88 motor? The 86 has the AX-5 behind it and the 88 has the AX-4. There shouldn't be any problems there right?
  17. Might give this a try. http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical/te ... cation.htm
  18. Beer Pong The New Years Eve party I went to had a bunch of people playing this. I justed watch but nearly laughed my @ss off. One thing the video leaves out is have an additional cup to collect car keys.
  19. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Accidents no matter how big or small, always suck. You can never get things lined up 100%. If you were closer, I have everything you need to fix it.
  20. $345 at auction end. I've bought an entire truck for less.
  21. :dunce: I didn't catch that until after I posted this one. You'll never see my virgins on anything but my truck. They are priceless to me. :D Well, maybe a $1000 would pry them away.

  24. Think you might be thinking of SuperWade2's that went for $200 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... ESELX%3AIT Now that I look back at his, it looks like the same bidder.
  25. I can't believe this hasn't been posted yet. Is the seller a member? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Com ... ccessories I guess I should put my OEM brand new, never installed ones in a safe.
