lol, another part of the goal is to keep the miles down on the 3800....

it's already a 4x4. and it's got a disco front end with a 231 tcase, aw4 tranny, 4.0 motor.

thanks man, I'm stoked about it. vote, what should I do to it? I'm keeping it for sure, but here's the options the way I see it: 1. drive it stock, use it as a DD don't do anything to it. 2. take care of the rust, repaint it and new decals, and DD it 3. same as number 2, accept it gets a 6.5" lift and some 33's and a nice front and rear bumper etc. etc. so I can wheel it AND DD it. 4. sell it to one of you guys for an arm and a leg :P I want it DD either way, so I can park my 3800 in the winter...I don't want it to rust. ideas? improve upon my ideas? lift suggestions? any help would be hot.

I got one from a chevy astro van. they're the frame width, but the mounts are longer. So I am just cutting the mounts shorter and cutting off a few brackets then mounting it up on mine where my bumper brackets are mounted, and then welding my bumper brackets so they bolt through the sides instead of the bottom of the frame rail.

very hard to find...man, I'd LOVE that aw4 behind even a 2.8, but behind a 3.4 would be way wicked too... actually, how much you want for the tranny? or if the tranny is bad, how much for the torque converter, flex plate, and bellhousing? I can always get another aw4 and bolt it to that... I'm DEFINITELY interested.

a rough country AAL lift kit is about 500 bucks. type in Jeep MJ on ebay and you'll see them. i have those on my trucks and like them, though I'd get the 4.5" one and get some rusty's rear springs

yup :D this came off the 2 door cherokee that i replaced the tranny in...payed $200 for the "new" tranny AND transfer case, then another 80 for seals/fluid and undercoat and to swap out the rims to the stock ones this was my bro's cherokee he bought froma friend for 1200, i sold it for my bro to a friend of mine for 2500 so he basically made 1500 profit....:D

:D yuppers, but the building is junk...it's gettin tore-d down and so is our huge barn, in the next year or two. we're developin our land, movin to 25 acres (nice upgrade from 12.5 :P) and that 25 comes with a further 72 acres across the road :D only 10 min. from where we are now! I really like your truck man, wish it were mine....trade? j/k

Pete, that's what I've got drawn up on mine...but you u have to cut it at the pinch weld all the way down the box to get the effect :P

hahaha, i just put the passenger flair back on my new 87...and I reaused the metal pieces. we have a small drill press here so i just drilled out the broken bolts, and welded in a 7/16 SS bolt. then painted it...so now all that will rust is the head of the bolt, and I painted them anyways, so if it does rust then it'll brake off inside... :D

....that's only half, the other half is thru the garage door...but it's unheated. the roof leaks all over..it needs a new one :( 120ft long by 53ft wide. my dad's, not mine.

lol, alex it's not that great anyways...it's a lil bent, but I'm gonna bend it back and repaint it, then put a hidden winch on for added reinforcement
