pull the seal slowly...and when you put the new window in, scrape all the glue off the window and the frame. put the seal back on around the window...the seal is actually just a centering device that locates the window. glue gets applied before you place the window in (obviously) and then just place it (with enough of the polyurothane glue) back in position, then take masking tape and tape it into position. allow at least a day before MOVING the vehicle...it needs to dry before it can be driven. I'd allow 2 to 3 before planning to drive it, simply cause i drive with windows down and don't want it to blow off from air. if you have a solid rear, now's the time to go to a split rear as well. even if you'd never use the split rear, it's worth it for the aesthetics

hahaha, yea you need the truck so you can get some good use outta the truck on sat.
-
get a piece of small cable, about 2.5 feet in length. i forget what gauge cable. anyways, get that. remove the trim seal (black seal around window). removing your interior trim will help. poke the cable through the seal (may take a bit of effort or a poke it through). then you will need to have a friend on the inside and move the cable in a sawing action, pulling it towards the sides. if you have a split rear you can do it yourself. basically, use the cable as a saw, OR you can attempt to use a box-cutter. (very hard and you'll probably break it)

haha, i don't have a few days. and I have a set of 1" drive tools for use on semi trucks...the ratchet has extensions up to 5' in range, i couldn't get it loose with that. torch. colton, I'd say to pay to have it done.
-
yea just a ratchet. i think it's a 1/2 but idk. i used a breaker bar
-
I have the same problem except worse...and I can't get mine off with an impact gun on the air compressor. time for a torch to heat it up...i gotta get it fixed, it's leaking the real nice synthetic gear oil...which makes me sad.
-
haha, that's cause we all drive comanches, the most awesome trucks in the world, so we have something in common.

Who knows about xj buckets in an mj?

mine were exactly like that. too far inwards. the ones in my brother's truck are too far forward...he's got a HUGE sub box behind his seats I spaced mine i think 1/5 or 3/4 inch to the outside by redrilling the holes on the lower brackets then bolting them back down. easy as pie...but I welded them as well once I was sure I liked where they were. -
that's an external slave. external means not inside... that hole is for the external slave. good find. even got the throwout bearing plate. :D

bah. so a few more things got f*d up on it this week.... blew all the rear spider gears...who'd have thought a 3800 camaro engine would have done that? :P front ujoints binding...not loose, but apparently i forgot to grease them and they needed some...greased all greasables on the truck. wouldn't go into all 4 caps on each front ujoint, but went into most...i'll keep driving it and trying to grease them. needed oil change, 3rd one since engine install...5500 miles on it (oil changed every 1000 for the first 2 to see how it was running) something else went wrong electrically...security fuel enable wasn't working properly on the computer, so the injectors were turning off after 4 seconds of running...rebuilt the bypass module to a 50 hz signal, and it works great. the bra came. i'm ashamed to say that I couldn't put it on with one hand.... it didn't look right with the chrome headlight doors. and i had to put an 8 slot black grille in it for it to work so i painted up my old headlight doors, and now it's all black. also painted and installed my over-door trim. wanted to see what the visor would look like.... and decided it will be white. I'll paint part of it black just to contrast (the sides of it) but it's going on for sure. needing a LWB rollbar for it, whether it's factory or not....and a brushguard i'm thinking. new lift is in the works too...wanting a RE 6.5" with a 98 ford 8.8 w/ 3.73's (already purchased) w/ discs and entire ebrake assy, and i'm thinking 33x10.50s for my tires. no trimming desired also put a selec-trac 2wd/4wd switch in the center console, and a silver dash bezel.

idk, but it's the same as a cherokee no doubt. which means that someone is still producing it. ebay man.

can you say yoga?
-
hahaha LMAO! i already told colton my story... don't sit in my passenger side seat ;) j/k
-
that's a better idea than mine...easier too. thx twist, can't believe i didn't think of that.
-
haha, nope, didn't give it a first thought, much less a second ;) It wouldn't bee that tall...I'd shorten it down some. mm...i'll play around with the idea more, but you're probably right lol. it DOES allow for a gain in approach angle though...it is shorter and higher than a stock bumper much less a custom one or winch bumper.
-
i'm not likin it on screen...but i think it would be pretty cool offscreen. bumper...yes, it would have one. not sure what, perhaps just a set of bumperguards up front spaced similarly to the ones on a stock bumper. this is a concept that I've been toying with (I have alot of them, and like most, typically don't have the time to do them...so I share them in hopes that someone else will like them and perhaps try it). if I did it, it would be completely reversible, at least in the first stages. I almost think that it would look better if the grille were meshed in? we'll see how it looks when I'm done photoshopping it...I'll do a better job of that...

thinking of doing THIS on an mj. with the fogs in the "lower" headlight spot discuss

And I tell you, the 3.8 kicks the crap outta the 4.0 when in a jeep...i gots experience on that one!
-
hmm...i'm excited to see this project. if you go with a 3.8, I can get you the diagrams you need, and tell you which wires do what. I can also direct you to a place to get the VATS bypass module so the antitheft (fuel engage/shutoff) works without the BCM...it's only 30 bucks. the 3.8 is something you can run seperate of your OEM harness, and all you would need to tie into the OEM harness is the tach, coolant temp, and oil pressure wires. everything else can be easily seperated.
-
Dirty, you wanna lay out this project for us? i'm having a hard time picturing exactly what you're thinking here... why would you need a reverse steering box unless you were going to RHD? are you making the whole truck narrower? i'm really clueless on this one man...
-
why do you need the 4"? and i think it would look fine if you did it correctly. gonna be alot of work though...

Broken bolts, and the owner who wants them out!

:agree: -
lmao! mount the rad. in the back of your exo w/ pusher fans. 25 feet of hose outta do it. shoot...when we did that it was with mid or rear-engine sandrails... uh...no clue how you're gonna do that man, you need something more in a V for that :P
-
haha, worried about your engine sticking out the front?

LMAO. i just say "torch" it's easier...but we do basically the same thing w/ our torch.
