  1. why would you even BOTHER putting a 4 speed in...5 speed is more worthwhile even if you don't ever use 5th gear
  2. like a wrangler door paddle? sure, why not. you push on the button, it makes a thing lift on a rod that opens the door. throw a wrangler style handle in there and call it a day. i like the sawed off cherokee one a bit too much...plus one less thing to mess with.
  3. haha, i do now...i didn't know that motor was in his tho. is jb fixing his nice one? he should...
  4. lol, mjcanoe, follow the link...a guy on naxja did those. I covered the topic on nice ones is what i meant lol. mine are turning out halfway decent so far...updates on it as I finalize decisions (had a few doors soooo....sawzall!) my final set will be plasma cut and will retain the stock mirrors. I will consider rotating them...i was thinking 90* only though. more work that way :(
  5. check for burrs on the injector, the fuel rail (if that's the side that's leaking), and the intake. if you find any rough surface, clean it (small round file or fine sandpaper), but you'll want to try and vacuum it at the same time if it's on the intake side... check everythin for burrs man, that's all i can think of unless something is out of round and you're now plugging a round peg into a oval hole or something like that...
  6. it's BLACK then and on the left side of the fusebox...directly in front of the ebrake assembly.
  7. switch options...fogs, rear dome, etc
  8. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... doors+tech i covered this with these nice ones
  9. haha just buy the 4wd parts outta tatersalad and rebuild them ;)
  10. alright, but we're agreed that it's an option...not factory inclusion...
  11. lol, it could be the drain plug IF it starts leaking from the drain plug, then he parks the truck facing downhill...the oil could potentially follow the contour of the axle before leaking off.... damn physics.
  12. someone did and I think they liked it. they also screwed a sub backwards to the back carpeted piece under the rear window
  13. there are a few different types of xj seats. if his are basic and just slide, they'd go in just fine. from what I understand, yours swivel as well? mine do....and they were off just as yours were. must be a difference in mounting.
  14. bull. my 87 leaves the lights on whether off or on, my bro's 88 does as well, so does my 86 and the 90 I had
  15. left side of your fusebox...directly in front of your ebrake assembly. may be hard to remove....wiggle-method is best
  16. haha, we use stallmat as a bedmat on my bro's truck...it was a PITA to cut it to fit round the fenderwells.... tough stuff tho.
  17. uh...that's an OLD truck man, it doesn't remind you the lights are off. i've never seen a manche that does that, and as far as i'm aware, cherokees didn't do that until around 93 or 94. as for the interior lighting, those typically go bad. take them off and try wire brushing the contacts and the metal parts. that's how i got mine to work.
  18. that, or i'm sure one from a jy that's good would be cheap...they don't usually go bad and are easily removed from one that hasn't been changed
  19. don't you have a white one that's in pretty decent shape?
  20. jb don't junk that split rear...someone will want it.
  21. haha. I'd hope that it would have at least something resembling a stock body up front....just for the aesthetics of it
  22. we all wish we did then... or at the very least we drive jeeps!
  23. I use synthetic amsoil 75 w 90 i think. I run full synthetic on everything, unless I have an aw4...in which case i use regular tranny fluid as the aw4's typically blow with synthetic, no idea why
  24. sweet, enjoy the performance and easy repairability of an external slave cylinder. don't forget, while the tranny is out to swap this one in, is the time to replace your clutch and throwout bearing, as well as the pressure plate and perhaps resurface the flywheel if it needs it. do these repairs now if needed so you don't regret it later!
