  1. nice. dibs on the tank and burgundy interior.
  2. if you drill those holes, you need to put crush sleeves in them.
  3. add-a-leaf plus shackle to get to 4.5" will put your pinion angle WAAAAYYYY off, so regardless youre gonna have to do some perch welding. put a cherokee shackle on it, then spring-over. it should only sit maybe 1" higher in the back then. dump the AAL's...they're junk. sell the shackles.
  4. you probably have a bad bushing on your shifter assembly and it's not getting quite in the proper location for 2H
  5. huh. of 25+ jeeps that have come through my place, NOT ONE has had the two holes that you're missing superwade.
  6. yeah...but then how would he use those inner braces? I have zero idea how those things work...there isn't one hole on those brackets that I can line up with a visual image of any MJ or XJ I've ever worked on. those look more like they're for a yj or tj or something of that nature...something with an actual frame.
  7. Oh, goody. More weight to help rip the upper hinge off the door post. Sign me up! it's not that much more weight. anyways, anything 96 and older, from a 4 door xj, should bolt right on.
  8. you're best off using the MJ harness. using the xj harness you will need to cut and splice the rear connector under the driver's kick panel, and you'll need to run a wire to the turn signal switch for the brake lights. renix MJ auto and manual dash harnesses are the same...you can mix and match, as long as they're both renix. so if you want the C101 connector, get the engine harness with that, and the MJ dash harness (inspect the fuse box so your problem doesn't occur again). 87mjdriver, I sent you a pm
  9. if you're not 18 yet, you don't own anything...it doesn't matter if you've paid for it.
  10. at the same time, what parent honestly cares what their kid's grade is in physics. how many kids grow up (or even want to be) physicists? it's obvious you don't, or your interest would be shown by at least a passing grade. I, like jpdocdave, graduated with pretty good marks...but I pretty much only did homework my freshman year. and even then, it was always late. after that, I pretty much did everything the night before, for projects...I couldn't screw over a group on a project. my parents cared, but I did not...I did get a fair amount of nc's (F's), and I got in as much or more trouble as you...but the college classes I was taking by junior year outweight that when it came to gpa etc. I gotta say, i understand where your parents are coming from, and also where you're coming from...just live with the results of your mistakes and do your best. prove them wrong if you feel they are (but I bet you'll find it pretty hard to prove your parents wrong when it comes to your education)
  11. lol. thanks paul...learn something every day. I did mine myself...first time, perfect with no leaks. tape the heck out of it when you're done and leave it sit for half a day. I ground ALL of the old sealant out with a drill and wire wheel, then took the small amount of surface rust out the same way, and then taped off the body and primer'd the inside of the windshield frame. here's how it came out.
  12. 1995+ cherokees use a rubber gasket. you can put it in in your truck, but you need to cut all the little nubs for the metal clips off first. I just replaced my windshield on the 87 with a windshield out of a 95, but there was nowhere open to get the 95 gasket, so I just used the metal trim. it was easy with a heat gun and a $20 windshield cutting tool from advance auto, and $20 tube of glue for it.
  13. it's more likely the wiper delay module (if you have wiper delay) under the knee board on the driver's side. it's velcro'd and has wires coming into both sides. remove it, plug the wires together, see if everything (but delay) works. I had that happen once and the smoke carried from under the dash up and through the steering column.
  14. out here it's how they drain fluids so they can crush the vehicle, and some areas have ordinances about fluids remaining in the vehicles as well.
  15. most all waggys will have a d44, if not every one of them. it probably had the axle replaced with a junkyard one at some point, or a jiffy lube type situation.
  16. the problem with the motor I used (series II buick 3800 out of a 96 camaro) was that I retained the factory ax5 5 speed. i should have gone with an ax15 and dodge dakota bellhousing from the get-go. I also probably shouldn't drive it like I'm a nascar driver... anyways, to put a 4.0 in you will need to drill all the spot welds out of the 2.8 radiator supports (behind the headlights) as well as the front frame crossmember, and you will need to do the same on the donor xj or mj and put those supports into the 86. this is necessary, not optional for the swap...you just won't be able to put the 4.0 radiator in otherwise. you'll also need an 87+ hood, as the hood latches are completely different. there may or may not be any firewall differences. evidence has shown that later in the 86 production, they were already gearing up for the 4.0. it's a few hits on the lower areas of the transmission humps. get the whole donor if you can. as far as the 3.4 swap is concerned, it will be easier and you can gain fuel injection by doing this swap. you're looking for a 91-95 camaro or firebird to do this swap.
  17. it was in a junkyard at some point. JY's punch holes in diff covers to drain the fluid per local junk yard regulations. someoone got it from the yard and shoved a rubber plug in it.
  18. I hate you lol. I need that bedside really bad.
  19. it is pretty convenient to have two running, driving vehicles. I need the 96 xj i picked up from automan back on the road, or the 3800 back on the road...because the 87 seems to be broken more often than not. be extremely careful in the winter brent...a slip on the ice and trying to catch balance could tear it more. mine was inguinal as well.
  20. where's it at? is it inguinal, umbilical? mine was inguinal. still getting used to the mesh that they put in. when you get surgery, do exactly what the doctors say. anyways, if this were a week later I'd be able to make it.
  21. Image Not Found if he takes the rack off or moves it sideways, he can fit two kayaks on it. w/o the rack he can also fit the 5 person canoe on between the ladder rack bar he puts @ the back of the bed, and the roof rack. IIRC the cross bars are by thule.
  22. if it's a carb'd 2.5, it's not in a comanche.
  23. CW: :rotfl2: :wall: :wall: :wall: :shake:   :fs1:  jerk lol
  24. yes just crawl under the jeep. it's the wires going into the sending unit
  25. remove the wrap around the fuel sender loom and inspect the wires, then inspect the connector. I'm talking about the wires coming directly off the tank. the wires have a tendency to rub inside that loom and sometimes you get a faulty connection from the wire rubbing on the inside of the wrap.
