just bought myself a wired usb keyboard for the laptop 4 way usb adapter so I only have one plug to plug the laptop in when I'm @ home 300-something CD/DVD binder because I have around 800 dvds and only have of them are in a binder...I like to use the cases only for display purposes, that way I can bring dvds with me on trips and not have a ton of cases lying around. lunch cause I was hungry and grabbed a 201 piece stanley tool set (metric and standard) as well as a 20 piece stanley wrench set. has 6 and 12 points, all the way up to 19mm. not the greatest tools, but the lifetime warranty makes it worth it. oh, and I got a $50 gas card from my brother, and $50 from my grandpa. didn't want anything from my parents, so I didn't get anything.

does it turn over and not start, or just not turn over altogether? -

severe impact. permanent damage?
JeepcoMJ replied to kmack's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
coming from someone who has bent their axle, it doesn't necessarily mean the frame is junk. I thought mine was alot worse than it was....and I'm pretty sure all 4 wheels were off the ground (I know everything was out of the bed...) btw, I drove home 240 miles like that... -
looks good. your alternator has been relocated on that 4l btw.
-
cause that would take effort, and frankly I could care less. the guy I'm building it for is the one who's supposed to be doing that, as well as helping me build it....and he's not, so I just want it done and gone.
-
umm. well, if the radiator looks just like that one, then it's not a 4.0 radiator. I would ask for exact pics of the radiator.

prepped the ebay stainless header and 2000 intake for the motor I'm building. gotta paint the intake tomorrow, and toss the oil pan on then finish dressing it...then drop it on the ground and bolt up the flexplate and trans.

if steph and kell are going to have a party on new year's, I'm gonna be going there instead...there will be more female @$$ around, it's closer, and then I don't even have to drive. I'll let ya know.

More or less same here. At least as it pertains to myself. I buy for the wife. My wife on the otherhand, buys for all our neices and nephews, Mom on here side and Pop on mine. Siblings get cards on both sides. I got the usual, socks and underwear... I buy MYSELF presents all year long!!!  The wife got a bunch of gift cards so SHE can get what SHE wants. CW yeah. only relative outside of my immediate family that I talk to is my grandpa on my dad's side...aside from that, my grandparents are either crazies (jahova's witness on mom's side, and doesn't give a crap about the boys in the family on the other side), or dead. Cousins are all the same way, so I don't talk to 'em. *shrug* just seems easier to get what you want instead of be disapointed with things you didn't want. I guess that's a tad selfish...but like said, it's a family thing not a gift thing, and if you're gonna give gifts, it may as well be on the person's list.
-
I got nothing, and gave nothing. IMHO, christmas is about spending time with the family, NOT giving gifts. so, I'm doing this new thing where everyone keeps their money and goes and gets what they want, if they want anything...and I do the same.
-
screw christmas. worthless holiday.

he built a back rack for the bed, but no lights on it. he did, however, fabricate an aluminum basket to go on his kayak rack, and put 4 "jeep" labeled fog lights on it... Image Not Found

ok. realistically, how many xj's do you think you're gonna find for $500 that someone took the time to swap an amc20 into? ....slim to none. based off that deduction, I assumed he was referring to amc 20's and that they had come stock in the cherokees...which is NOT possible. that is one absolute, 100% guarantee with AMC.

kinda looks like my old one...a friend of mine has it now, though. you have burgundy interior? this was mine... Image Not Found

...yeah, but the guy on that pirate thread did it as a joke, and had the thread going for awhile. he really just did it to piss everyone on pirate off lol.

hi mike :waving: I'm Pat, and I have a problem...I'm addicted to comanches...

...did you just...

I've bought complete XJ's with both 44 and 20 and drove them home for less than $500. Prices vary around the country but in this area a good D44 can be picked up for less than $100. Same for the C20. xj's never came with amc20's from the factory...and that is a solid FACT.
-
they're control arms are WAY overpriced. you can get adjustables for close to that. 3" spacers are a stupid idea. but at least they know that the front end parts are the same as an xj...even if they don't designate whether their DPE is 1" drop or what it is...and they probably aren't aware that a DPE is a bad idea unless you're over 8" on an xj/mj for the simple fact that it will throw your steering angles off...
-
let's just throw the ax15 in it and get the 4x swap done a.s.a.p. so you don't even have to worry about it...

what would a 4cly with 3.09 be like?
JeepcoMJ replied to comanche13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
three words... it would suck. -
I just wanted to let you know that your Comanche couldn't have came stock with a D44 anyways. There were no shortbed Comanches that came stock with a D44. The D44 came stock under the Metric Ton Comanches and all Metric Ton Comanches are longbeds. I hope this info helps. Sorry, but that's not correct. The Metric Ton package wasn't offered on the shortbeds, but the D44 axle came with other packages. I have an '87 shortbed that I bought from the original owner's daughter. It's all stock, and it has a Dana 44 rear axle -- with Trac-Lok. Eagle, I second, third, and fourth you on that fact. I've owned 3 shortbeds that came factory with d44's, and are factory on their build sheets...one of them was 2wd as well, and a base model.

an AMC20 that is FROM an MJ is about equal in strength. CJ guys are desperate to get them as they're better than the C20 offered in CJ's...same axle, save for the fact that the MJ uses one piece axleshafts rather than the 2 piece shafts of earlier AMC20's. given the choice, I'd use a d44 for the fact that aftermarket parts are more available. but for the right price (under $300), I'd buy an amc20 that's already got 4.10's in a heartbeat, install it, and not think twice about it. I have an amc20 in my 86 comanche diesel...almost 300,000 on it with original bearings and no issues....but the motor makes 85hp so I wouldn't expect to have issues lol -Pat
