  1. 96 and up. have one with a broken case sitting in the garage right now. two actually...one's a '91 nonsealed, and the other is a '99 that is sealed. luckily, the one with the broken case has 90k on it and just got dropped when trans service was being done (trans blew)
  2. another thing that causes jumpy speedos is a mis-clocked speedometer cable adapter on the transfercase. it's offset to allow for differences in diameter in different speedo gears due to the variety of teeth needed for any given tire to gear ratio....so it must be clocked right to get proper contact on the worm gear in the transfercase/tailshaft housing.
  3. how? front wheel drive? yep. because the output is a sealed output. you can also accomplish that by using a '96+ np231 or np242 and a normal (but correct length) rear driveshaft.
  4. set things to rest here... an MJ has a longer wheel base than a cherokee. While most tech is the same between an xj/mj, rear driveshafts are NOT. you do not need a transfercase drop on an MJ until roughly 8" lift, if not more...given the correct rear driveshaft and proper (i.e. NO WEDGES) pinion angle is set. SYE in a comanche is more a novelty than a necessity. Realistically, even 7" is too tall to be useful... the only real benefit of SYE in an MJ is that you can break your rear driveshaft and still drive home. that said...you have to have a driveshaft made to work in the MJ, so if you're doing that you may as well drop another $100 to have them use the thickest wall they can...and you shouldn't ever dent it.
  5. I'd have to assume they won't be boxy and will be curved like the factory tail lights, correct? That said...the bend will be MUCH better quality than the bends I will be making free hand with a torch and a BFH to bend them...so, frankly, I'm willing to pay for a set for the simple fact that it will save me time. I can save up money...I can't save up time. It's the one thing I have no control over.
  6. *edited by the admin so as to keep the peace*
  7. then it doesn't matter, because they're not designed for d/d street trucks anyways. it's protection against busted tail lights on the trails. that, and cheap insurance that the most your tail light replacement is gonna cost is $10 when you bust a lens
  8. even if you could make the roof contours match up and manage to get the '99 rear section to work, you'd hit your head on it if you're taller than 5'8"... I've tried this, not a fan...but I'm 6'1" and my seats sit 3" higher than stock, so that's the end result...
  9. My post was in response to 87Warrior about just swapping in a WJ D30 axle. :smart: tenfer
  10. the coil buckets don't matter at all if you're just swapping knuckles. and I'm willing to bet someone out there can figure out how to make 5x4.5 wheel bearings work....I KNOW some guys have already done this swap on naxja.
  11. I'm in. I'd be interested in the set that wraps around too...even more interested if you can make sections to go from front of bed to rear in that section...
  12. *sigh*. the axe is mid-swing. I think the phrase "I told you so" is more or less an understatement. CW is correct.
  13. Jake, I've got the shifter boot, a factory shifter handle, mounts for that center console, the 4wd bezel and light harness and a cup holder for your interior. I'll have a rear axle by the end of this weekend to get that 4x4 usable as well :D
  14. yes, yes i do. :shake: good, I'm glad
  15. definitely weren't being sarcastic... I've got a new product that I need to add to my shelf now, though...
  16. now you know.
  17. Hey what do these two fingers smell like? Rob L. :rotf: I'll kill you.
  18. you wanna know how i know your ghey? you use "ghey" instead of ghey. hmm. seems to have backfired on you buddy...

    Woohoo!

yep, just wanted to verify you got the right part jeepcom....just in case anyone else got bright ideas to get the wrong parts. nice score though...very nice indeed
  22. JeepcoMJ

    Woohoo!

that gauge cluster will only work with a 91+ comanche or cherokee...unless you've converted a renix to high output
  23. this needs to be in microsoft excel format...I don't know how to add an excel page to the internet here or I would take care of it. that chart is just too confusing
  24. the problem with donations/sponsors, as Pete has explained to me before, is that they then get a "piece of the pie". Most places won't consider sponsoring unless they're in control enough to regulate when and where their ads will be located. At the moment, Pete is the sole owner of Comanche Club, and therefore "dictates" what goes on with this site, when, and where...things such as what type of website this is, whether vbulletin or otherwise. With sponsors (such as offroad parts manufacturers), you loose a bit of the control you had before...they can suggest switching to non-free forum software etc. and if you don't, they can pull the plug on donations. You'd have to make them aware of forum changes before they happen... the list goes on. it just complicates things. I say we keep donations from group members ONLY. no parts distributors etc..
  25. is the new headlight a factory replacement, or a cheapo from a parts store that you had to wire in?
