Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Just Read entire Build, Awsome Work
  2. I agree each has its purpose, each is fun. I have owned alot of Jeeps and 75% Manual and love them but wife insisted on my LJ being an Auto so she could drive it. MJ is Manual and glad it is!
  3. What year is that MJ? Even before you pointed it out i had already been searching google images looking for a 2.5L like mine with the AC like mine and didnt see it?? Who knows. General Concensis is that i should have a 18 Gal Gas tank?
  4. Again I am relatively new to Comanche’s but not new to Jeeps; I just am not that familiar yet with the 2.5 TBI as to what works best. I plan on keeping this Jeep and will be going thru everything on it and know that it is going to need a new Gas tank and Tune up for sure just trying to spend my money wisely upfront . I do agree on the Radiator Hose and the thermostat housing to Intake is not good either. I am not at all trying to come across as a elicit but I thought the same thing on the A/C until looking at the pictures more but I haven’t been able to find any picture with the compressor located on the bottom either ????
  5. I recently purchased a 1987 Jeep Comanche with a 4cyl TBI , 4Speed , 4x4 , short bed , A/C , and Powering Steering. VIN: 1JTHX6312HT001620 I purchased the Jeep and had to leave for some military training for 4 weeks and i am about a week out from returning home and want to go ahead and order a few parts to have on hand when i get home to get the jeep up and running. Jeep has been parked and not running for 4+ years (PO said fuel pump went out and he parked it) - What size Fuel tank should my Jeep have and where might be the best place to buy one? - I am wanting to purchase Plugs, Wires, Dist Cap, Rotor.... (any certain brand or type that is best for the 4cy)? Thanks, Jeep Sarge
  6. To be honest i really don't know the mileage, i saw the truck once, paid for it two days later then had to leave for some training, so i will be back in about two weeks and the fun will begin!
  7. What year and make would be plug and play with my 87 2.5?
  8. Couple more Pictures, Truck seems to be complete minus the talegate but i know a junkyard with three complete Comanches and one is black. I will Start of with the Routine Maint then clean the heack out of it. Plans are a 3in lift and some 31's or 32's
  9. Well not New to the Forum but haven't been that active since i didnt own a Comanche for a while but i am back in the game. I purchased a 1987 4-cyl, 4-speed, 4wd, SWB about three weeks ago. I had been wanting another one (my first one was a 2wd lwb) to use for a home depot truck, my DD is a 04 LJ and tired of hauling stuff in my baby! Any way excited to be back in the MJ world and the loads of knowledge that takes place on this site! Truck was purchased after a 12pk and walking down to my buddies shop... hehehehe Paid him the next day and then got on a flight for a month out of town. Told my wife to be nice to the Brown Santa. Couple Pictures to Follow.
  10. Would be a great section, i have owned a slue of Jeeps 90% being 4.0L but just picked up a 87 MJ 2.5L thats completely stock and would love to see 2.5L TBI information. Sorry for the Hijack, back to topic
  11. I may have over read something but JK wheels are not 5x4.5
