Ok I'll give that a shot....It's been many years since I messed with power steering. Haha Just jack up the front and cycle it for a bit?

I cycled the wheel lock to lock about 2 dozen times with the engine off. Anything below 1k rpms it provides no assistance, above that it works normal.

Alright I'm puzzled. 96 Xj 4.0. Replaced the power steering pressure hose and now the Jeep has no power steering at all... Hose was replaced due to a leak at the crimp. Everything worked perfectly fine before the swap. I checked the hose for plugs and such and it flows freely. Res. Is full. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had a pin break in mine that would occasionally cause mine to lock up. Replaced the springs and pins and that solved it.

The AW4 was just the term used for the 30-40LE in the Jeep applications I believe...

Standard 80w90 is fine. Check the bottle also since most gear oils already include a modifier.

Mesa, Az to Shippensburg PA..... Google maps says 2196 miles. It was right around 2300 of driving the Jeep and between the whole round trip start to finish it was over 5000 miles. Haha it was an adventure

Ive had good luck with the Ebay manifolds ($100 or less). Make sure to replace or at least check your motor mounts as well. Worn mounts will lead to more cracks sooner down the road. :thumbsup:

Funny how they mention the Comanche name could be considered offensive but didn't hesitate at all bringing back the Cherokee name by itself... I also agree bringing back the Comanche name would be offensive, not because of the native Americans but because of what monstrosity it would be slapped on from Fiat...

I'm likely going to go with a similar setup without an intercooler as well. I'd be happy to get together sometime when mines completed. I dream of the day pulling into the York Jeep show with this truck and a load of MJs on a trailer. Hahaha

Any idea on the brand of the radiator installed in this?

Going to try with the Dodge radiator. Probably will not mess with an intercooler at this time, since this era of Cummins was non intercooled to begin with.

Finishing up the front clip and cab mounts this week then onto the radiator and steering.... Hopefully no more 9 month hiatuses!

Finally some progress! It's been too long since I've worked on this, thanks to some friends today, this happened!
