Alright well here is what i found at 1st glance (thi is taken fron lying underneath it)......it was kinda cool locking up the rear wheels only on my slick driveway and pullin 180s but i knew it wasnt suppossed 2 do that....lol, idk how long its acctually been like this 2, it had 2 of been this way for a good while And here's my fix.....i have no idea where the bar went that connects to the axle so zipties will have 2 work for now...ill keep an eye on it, it should be fine. its pointing to the right as mentioned
-
Alright well just outta curiosity i decided to finally look at my rear proportioning valve and it seems someone has messed with it before.....the arm in sitting straight pointing up and wired tight (mechanics wire) around the bracket. Would this cause the rear tires to lock easyer and produce somewhat poor braking? I can easly adjust it but its defently not pointing to the right like the pic shows and its been in that posistion for along time...

Cat or No Cat???
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Cool....I just picked up a Turbo Style muffler online and will get that installed later this week, anyway I'm thinking about reversing my glasspack (its directional) tomarrow for the heck of it & see if that changes anything and also should i put a peice of pipe through my gutted Cat or just leave it hollow and open? -
Cat or No Cat???
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Alright well I'm digging up this topic again, i did hollowed out the glasspack and installed my 18" Glasspack alittle over a month ago and I'm going back to a muffler setup.....i love the sound but as mentioned low end power is GONE! lol its quite a turd at low RPM and gained very minimum power up high. I would suspect this is due to almost no backpressure. My Lesson is learned and my fix will be to keep the cat hollowed out but install a close to standered muffler to revive some backpressure which should restore most of my Low end torque that has dissapeared. Anyway if this question ever comes up for anyone here's a 1st hand answer, ill let ya know if anything changes after the new muffler install. Hollowed Cat+Glasspack= Awesome sound/ NO POWER! -

I shoved an old Steering bearing outta 1 of my Quads under the support.....that seemed 2 have solved it for a few weeks now.....lol -
Yeah i had heard on some trucks (not all MJs) that removing the front valance under the front end can/may result in cooling issues b/c of the air flow disruption, i started a topic in the Tech Section and were discussing it a bit more. Thanks for the answer though

Removing the Front Valence???
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Alright I have 1.5" and 30x9.50 tires on 4.75" bs wheels.......would it be wise for me to keep it then? -
I know ive seen a few trucks with the front valence removed, mainly when an aftermarket bumper is added. My question is can or will this cause any overheating problems with obstructing the airflow on our trucks. I'm thinking of cutting my front flares at the Front bumper and removing that valence. I just want to make sure it wouldent cause any major problems with highway trips and so forth. Thanks! here's a picture of what I'm talking about, thanks to "Reason46" for this pic and idea

I Ordered 4 Steel Wheels with Centercaps and Lugnuts for under $300 from Summit...

I know this picture was from back with the stock bumpers but i like how you cut the front flares and eliminated that valance underneath the bumper. My Question is if you did any extended trips and did that valance missing cause any overheating issues or any issues in general......let me know whenever, thanks! O Yeah the Truck is awesome!

what kind of gas mileage do you get with your mj? (engine?)
ComancheKid45 replied to brdhntr's topic in The Pub
4.0 AW4 I usually get about 11-12 city and 15-16 hwy but I'm on 30x9.50 tires with 3.55 gears and the stock speedo gear so id imangine its alittle bit better than i calculate -
2 bad i can't drive like either 1 of em....lol
-
LMAO you asked for it!
-
Id rather just post my pic and let you guys decide......lol
-
Yeah I'm running 30x9.50 for now and if i do go up to 31s next winter that'll be the biggest i go probably. But even a gear that works close with the 30's I would be satisfied
-
Alright well ive been messing with the tire calculaters everyones been posting and thought to myself by this time next near ill most likely have a set of 31" tires on my truck. I have 30s now and am wondering about updating the speedo gear for accurate readings. Whats all involved with the swap and where can they be found. I figured if i put 1 in for the correct 31" tires now with my 30x9.50s installed itll be much closer than with the OEM 1. Any advice on this? Thanks
