I recently got a front skid plate but don't have the bolts for installing it onto the truck. Does anyone happen to know what type/size bolts the front skid was installed with, I'm gonna try and pick up some at Lowes later on. Thanks for any help

Awesome Idea....i may have to do this is the future -

lol yeah.....I'm glad ill never have 2 deal with crappy IFS (i hope) anyway he did find a set of longer shocks and he's gonna get them installed. Thanks for directing us to the Ranger forum, that place was pretty helpful....either way I'm happy with my MJ and am glad we never had Torsion bars installed on our trucks! :D
-
Yes his Torsion Bars are cranked to where his front shocks no longer have much if any upward travel

Alright, well 1st off no this isnt for my Comanche. Anyway I have a friend with a 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 Edge Edition (if it matters) anyway he has a 2" lift kit installed on his truck but needs new shocks (his are maxed out) The shocks bolt up like any other standered shock (same as an MJ) but id like to know the OEM length and/or the length he should order for his truck. Basically i need to know the length for a 0-3" lifted Ford Ranger 4x4 shock. I confused myself but if you have any info, thanks

Also not to hijack the thread but when the fender project comes around and the Bushwackers go, keep me in mind I'm going to be looking for a set eventually

ComancheKid45 replied to Str8OuttaBallard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have no idea how it was made but i do know it was made in color segments. Someday i may have it redone but alittle fading and cracking isnt gonna bother me. I do know it was about $75 installed -
wtf Mesh headlight covers
ComancheKid45 replied to Str8OuttaBallard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It does look like it but no, i do not have any grills for the turn signals or markers.....they are just aftermarket clear lenses that have alittle different plastic pattern to them -
What paint job are ya look at doing next? I personally love the current 1, also will you be ditching the Bushwackers when you redo the fenders?

Well I'm hopefully done messing with my exhaust after my stint and experiment with hollowed cats and glasspacks.....anyway here's a few shots i snapped of my truck this morning outside my shop. My Exhaust setup (hopefully for awhile) Some interior shots (it needs cleaned BAD) Next on the list i believe is body work above the rear wheels this spring... ;) -

exhaust pipe hitting xmember
ComancheKid45 replied to james750's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Be Carefull prying around under there, you may cause you exhaust to crack right behind the connection of the Downpipe and the cat.......i got alittle rugged yesterday during muffler install... -
Cat or No Cat???
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah basically.....not much difference unless its a decent length -
Is this the fairly heavly damaged truck for the accident? that could be an issue with driving it... :dunno:

Cat or No Cat???
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thats possible.....basically i was just running an open Cat b/c there wasnt much to my 18" glasspack.......but i defently noticed a loss of power with that setup. Theres nothing qwrong with building anythng big, I'm sure different setups perform different for different people -
Cat or No Cat???
ComancheKid45 replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well i can tell ya if you run basically just a straight pipe exhaust youll notice a loss of power when you really need it.....like climbing a mountain on a main road or something along those lines, Itll make alot of noise but i noticed very sluggish performance -
Ditched the 18" glasspack after only a month and replaced it with a Raptor muffler. Should have my PA speaker for my CB here soon also to install
