Project "Black Betty"
shelbyluvv replied to shelbyluvv's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
I installed some new wheels on her this weekend. Not much of an update but these wheels look killer on it! -
I have a Melling HV pump as well. I am not sure if it is bad bearings or lifters but the new Melling pump did nothing to change the way it ran. Granted this was a few years ago when the pump was swapped out. It is not a faulty guage either. You can hear the valves talking when the oil get hot. It is a 4.0 as well

Onyx has devolped a nasty rattle and low oil pressure when warm. I just put a pump in it a few years ago and it still had a rattle and low oil pressure when warm. Before I blow another $50 on a new pump does anyone have a good used pump they would like to part with? I would like to verify that it is in deed a crap pump. I would need it shipped to a PO Box in 31703 Albany GA

It very well could be the CPS. all the rockauto ones show a red and white wire on them. -

It may be the MAP sensor wiring. A pic would help a lot. EDIT: Engine Speed sensor WHT/BLK goes to pin 28 of the ECM VIO/WHT goes to pin 11 of the ECM -
Spent a little time under the hood with some ZEP orange degreaser. Worked pretty well. I also painted the tailgate so everyone knows that she is a JEEP. I also took most of the stickers off the back window. I left the important ones though.

Thanks man. I drove her to work today. No issues on the way to work. Rode great, shifted great and the steering was tight. I did notice that it leans in the corners a bit much. I guess I should have checked it over more. The sway bar links are MIA. On the way home for lunch she did great as well. Pulled into the driveway and heard some valvle clatter then noticed the check gauge light was on. No oil pressure. This could be a problem. It always had low oil pressure and a rattle once warm. We even changed the oil pump a few years ago and it still did it. I am going to change the oil and put a heavier weight in her to see if that helps. Either way I'm going to drive it until it blows up. It's been fine for 4 years now so I should be ok for a bit.

If you are using a mobile device you can switch from the Comancheclub mobile to web based at the bottom of the page. Don't use Tapatalk to access the forum. Use your internet brouser. That should get you moving in the right dircetion. Also do not use the Photobucket app on your phone. It will not give you the links to post images. You will have to use your brouser for that too. -
Truck is turning out great!

I spent some time today figuring out why the power drivers seat didn't work any longer. I found the plug was corroded and the power wire was broken. I nipped off the connection and spliced the wires together. I now have a power seat again.

Thanks Brett. I am too. We got a little rain today and I found three different water leaks to the inside. Looks like the dash needs to come out completely to seal the upper cowl. The HVAC suitcase seal is leaking and the rear window is leaking. I picked up some nice new door seals for her today. Those will be replaced once all the other leaks are sealed and the rusty floors are repaired.

just uploaded a bunch of pics. There is no post count filter. You are doing something wrong. I even posted one here to see if it works. It does. -
I pulled up the nasty wet and rat piss covered carpet to find this pleasant surpise, Also found mold behind the soaked rear carpet board She also has mildew all over the interior It'll take a few weeks to get her fixed back up but I am up to the challenge.

Onyx got her first bath in four years. A few things need to be removed like these lights This tool box. I hate tool boxes in trucks let alone a short bed. They kill to much bed space. Windshield needs to be replaced Engine needs to be detailed

It's hard to believe that it's been over 4 years since I sold this truck. It feels good to have both of my girls back finally. I can't wait to get her running dependably so I can really enjoy all my hard work.

She's a little dirty, has a electrical issuse and there is a pond on the drivers floor. All and all she is in good shape. I need to figure out why you have to unplug the cps with the key on to trip the asd to get it to start. Then pull the seats and carpet and let her dry out. We wheeled the piss out of her last night and what a great wheeler it is! I missed her.

Turning On A/c Kills Engine
shelbyluvv replied to bongobill's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I want him to unplug the comperssor to see if it still does it so we know if it is a wiring issue or a bad compressor. I have seen a bad idler pulley lock up and engine before. -
