  1. Bump on this. Still looking for a 2 door XJ door wiring harness with power windows and door locks. Have the 2 door switches and older door harnesses. My Comanche is a 91, so need a 92 or 92 door harness. Anybody have it?
  2. XJ seat brackets do not work. The MJ seat brackets are different. Do a search and you will find everything you want to know. Oh. Comanche bench seat brackets work on buckets. Also, you want buckets from a 2 door XJ, so they tilt forward. There is a great write up on buckets seats in the DIY section. It has tons of great pictures. I just did a bench to bucket conversion and found all the info I needed here. What took the time was to find a set of MJ bucket seat brackets. BUT, I could have used the bench seat brackets out of any MJ. I used parts from 8 different bucket seats to make a GREAT pair of Laredo wing back seats. Much better than the old bench seat.
  3. I had no trouble finding female seat belts at several local pick a part yards after I did a bucket seat conversion. I got mine out of several Cherokees. Found there were 2 different male seat belts. Earlier ones had 2 holes, later ones had one hole. My truck is a 91 and takes the single hole belt. Saw 3 early Comanches, all had the 2 hole male belts. So look at what you have before you buy. Have not checked myself, BUT I "think" the male seat belt is the same for the Comanche and the Cherokee. Next time I am at a yard I will check it out (IF I remember). Are the seat belts different in the 2 door Cherokee from the 4 door Cherokee???? Doesn't make sense for them to be different. JJ
  4. Yeah, I have a feeling the complain train derailed that one. Rob L. :fs2: Want to fill me in via PM? Know I found JCR here and then when I went back some months later, could not find the Comanche bumper on their web site. Their prices seemed "reasonable" for what they offered. Too bad so many customers want all the best stuff for rock bottom prices. Life does not work that way. You want something - you need to pay the price. Best of times, you only pay once for what you want. Too many times we have to PAY several times over, before we finally get what we want at a fair price. johnj92131 P.S. Guess I need to collect some dimensions for the rear bumper and take them down to Ensanada to be fabricated with "cheap" Mexican labor (Since cheap Mexican labor is no longer available in Arizona). johnj92131
  5. As others have said, it should be worth the asking price and a bit more. Too bad nobody has been able to get hold of him. JJ
  6. Saw a link to a fabricator her on the Comancheclub that made custom rear bumpers for our trucks at a very reasonable price. Can someone point me to the thread??? Have not found the right search term yet. johnj92131
  7. I am looking for the power window/door lock/power mirror door harness (left and right doors). Plus looking for the cross body harness for same. Heck, I would even take the full wiring harness from the complete 91 - 92 two door XJ. Anybody got one or see it at the local Pick a Part yard? Thanks, johnj92131
  8. Has anyone come up with a non factory location for the power mirror switch/controller? Have a set of 97+ power mirrors to install on the Comanche. Will install them without connecting power. But I got a power mirror switch/controller from a 2000 Isuzu and a blank switch panel from a 95 or so Cherokee. Looking to cut the Cherokee blank panel so the Rodeo switch fits, to the right of the head light switch and left of the steering column. Should look very near factory, if I ever get around to doing it. Bigest problem for me will be how to bastardize the wiring to the power mirrors. johnj92131
  9. Seriously, Who here has the skills required to draw up the diagrams to construct a Comanche Class 3 hitch? It would take me a month of full-time effort to get close. But, I do have a class 3 hitch to take measurements for anyone who wants them. Would make a good DIY article. But think somebody has done this here on the ComancheClub. And even for those of us who do not/can not weld, we could get a hitch made up locally with the drawings. johnj92131
  10. Only reason the front hitch is still available is the Cherokee market. No doubt you got lucky on that one. You did buy both of um RIGHT??? IF he did not buy all of them, I guess I will have to buy them. In a year or two I will sell "RARE Comanche Hitch" on Ebay. Reserve price will be $1000 or maybe $1500. Hey, got to bet the money for a stroker or the paint job somehow. johnj92131
  11. I was really sad to see this 1951 Buick sent to a pick your part yard. Know there has to be hundreds of dollars worth of parts someone will want. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/pts/1748786635.html As a car nut, I am sure you don't like to see things like this. Can anyone point me to a website where I could post this find? John Jackson, San Diego
  12. Dealers are looking for one of those suckers born every minute. And they find them.
  13. Have also been looking for a front mounted hitch. My idea was to carry my Honda Trail 90 on the front while I tow the camping trailer on the rear hitch. Notice Curt front hitches rated at 300 lbs tongue wt. and Draw Tite rated at 500 lbs.
  14. Sean, I just put MJ buckets in my truck. I kept going to the Yards and when I saw 2 door XJ seats I looked for good part and finally purchased 2 pairs for parts. Then I found a like new set of 4 door XJ seets. Had a shop take parts of all 3 pairs of buckets into one good pair of seats for the MJ. Yes, I also found a pair of MJ bucket seat brackets.. Took about 10 trips to each of 4 local pick your part yards. So just keep checking your local yards. Otherwise, the sheep skin covers sound great.
  15. I also called, no answer and no return call to the message I left. No email reply either.
  16. Know some of you use your truck to tow trailers. Where have you mounted your trailer brake controller? Looking for ideas where to mount mine. John Jackson 91 LWB, column shift automatic, Big Ton Package, SnugTop shell, factory bed liner, "no slip" bed mat. Now with Laredo Buckets, power windows, still rubber floor mats, full gauge cluster "soon".
  17. Just found this thread and it is great! Can some of you post the stock position for the bottle jack, lug nut wrench and spare tire winch tool? My 91 base model had only bare sheet metal at the back of the cab. Found a good rear cab cover at a salvage yard. BUT not sure how to mate it to the back of the cab and keep the bottle jack in place. Help Please!
  18. See if the buckets fold forward. If they do, then take them. At the very least, take the seat brackets off of all 4 seats. They are hard to find. Took me a good year to find my set in the local yards. There are 3 trucks in the local yards right now none with buckets.
  19. Think we found one in Alabama, should get here by Tuesday. Did know Jeep got a lot of parts, including steering columns from GM. But did not think to search the forums for posts about steering columns. Just searched for the term "multifunction switch".
  20. Tilt column and delay wipers. Will look up Turner. Thanks Don.
  21. Does anyone know of an interchange for the Multifunction switch used in a Column Shifted 91 Comanche? Quite sure they switch was used in other cars. John Jackson 91 long bed w/big ton package
  22. Had my 91 long bed repainted last year. It has had a bed liner and a SnugTop since new. Still had them pull the bed liner and the SnugTop, then paint the bed at the same time. Cost me extra to get the shell painted that way. And yes, the bed was in very good shape. Allways a Southern California truck. Just what I did.
  23. So HellBent, where are you in San Diego? How often do you check the pick your part yards in Otay Mesa?? John Jackson, San Diego also, Scripps Ranch
  24. My 91 has one from the factory. Listed on the original factory window sticker. Also lists "big ton" package. (Not "metric ton" package that year).
  25. Here is an 89 Comanche short bed on San Diego Craigslist: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/pts/1594889969.html Would be a good candidate for a front clip from a late XJ
