  1. I think I would have a real "family emergency" if I just brought home another MJ truck. I would be on my way to the emergency room after Anita finished with me. May have to rent space or another garage soon.
  2. I have been interested in a diesel MJ for some years, this may be the one. Dropped the seller an email this morning. Hopefully I will hear back from him. My plan would be to rent a dolly and use that to get it home. Then find a shop that has done some work on the diesel before.
  3. When you mail/phone order parts, you need to pay by credit card. By doing that, you put the bank in between you and the vendor. If the vendor does not deliver, you dispute the charge with your credit card issuer and the bank reverses the charge to the vendor. Now, this does not reduce the frustration level about poor customer service, but it does protect your hard earned money. I need to call Team Cherokee to see if they stock some parts I need. If they do, I will pay by credit card.
  4. Costco sells a product called "Oil Eater", it is a degreaser that can be deluted with water. Spray it on the engine compartment at the coin operated car wash, then wash the engine down. Other than that, get your engine steam cleaned the first time. Then keep it clean.
  5. Gentlemen, Thank you both for confirming my fears/judgement. SmthnD1ff, thanks for the written instructions! What did you use to repair the cracks? Hot melt glue, JB Weld, other epoxy glue?
  6. Nice to see the update. But here is a slight correction to the AW4 transmission ratios from carnuck. Another very slight correction: The Metric Ton package was the Big Ton package in 1991. Don't know when it changed, but that is what it is on the factory sticker of my 91.
  7. Noticed a large crack in the interior of my glovebox. Started looking at how to remove the glove box and it looks like it is a single piece called the upper instrument panel and runs the full width of the dashboard. Is this correct?
  8. You really should go back and take another look at the truck you pulled that switch from. Might see a couple other interesting items, like a high capacity alternator? And perhaps a switch to turn the fan on for extended cooling?
  9. Went back today and got both of them! So if you still need the plates - send me your address so I can mail them.
  10. Air adjustable shocks on the rear may be the best choice for you. That would let you "test" different heights on the rear without the risk of going too high for the camper. As for the front, I am with Eagle, find out why you are rubbing first rather than just put a lift on the front end. I have put 2800 lbs of blocks in the bed of my truck (Metric Ton package plus 2 overload springs) and never had any front tire rub. Tires were 235/75 x 15. 28.9 inch diameter
  11. You need to switch to Direct TV. It is on their first tier above basic. And let me give you my account number and we both get a discount for a while.
  12. Fount the same truck for sale by the seller only priced at $1000: https://www.carsforsale.com/used_cars_for_sale/1969_jeep_j20+pickup_215883461_2 Makes me almost want to buy this and replace my Comanche! Seriously, someone could make some money with this truck (not taliking about plowing snow). Then again, maybe I have been watching too much of the Velocity channel shows. :D
  13. Super. Glad you found what you needed.
  14. My sister in law has had one of these in her Cherokee for years. It works, but I guess it is better than nothing because it is not well anchored. And the price is quite reasonable.
  15. Did you ever get the headrests you want?
  16. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/pts/4248404457.html Not mine. Know nothing. Just saw the ad and figured somebody may want to talk to the guy. But he seems to think they are "rare" so hold your wallet.
  17. Here is an ad for Comanche tail lights. I have nothing to do with it. Just saw it and posting it for anyone interested: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/pts/4248404457.html
  18. Jim, That was a great Craigslist deal you got there. Someone else did a whole lot of the work on that 84 conversion. Glad to see it go into a Comanche
  19. 4 pane window is after market. 3 pane is stock. If it matters to you.
  20. If Rob can get them sooner, that is great. No reason I know of that you would be blocked. Just sent you a p.m.
  21. Saw 2 different sets of 2 door buckets on my last JY trip 2 weeks ago. The seats were trash but the tilt forward mechanism worked and held. It will be 10 to 14 days before I go back again. If those metal clips are still there - I will get them.
  22. Dilithium, Do I understand you and the 86 Comanche are in Western Europe??? If that is true, then you have some serious options for an engine upgrade that we in North America just don't have. The 2.5 turbo diesel built (I think) by VM.
  23. Stock solid window or stock 3 piece slider window? Just asking to be clear about what you need.
  24. Seems like a very cheap option to me.
