Yes, you have obviously lifted it so alignment is most likely the cause of your DW and where I would look first.

Sounds like a big loss of ground issue. Start at the battery and work your way through the grounds making sure they are all clean & tight. I posted a link to a .PDF file of the Electrical Manual in the DIY forum if you wish to download it and us it to help.

I honestly don't think that there is any chance that they will work. A 235 is just short of 29" and is a fairly tight fit on a stock MJ...especially a 2WD. The 31's will likely be OK if you are going straight on flat ground, but if you turn and hit a bump at the same time it is probably going to rip out the inner fender liner and possibly do metal damage if not damage to the tires.

If it is one of the "clam shell" style lockers like a Lock-Right, then the popping noise you are hearing is a normal part of their operation. Putting hubs on it would stop that on the road, but that is a lot of money to spend just to stop a little noise that is not hurting anything and will still be there when the hubs are locked ;)

I'd be willing to bet that in most places the cops would have a problem with that...

So is the reason that you are using a manual switch because the new radiator doesn't have the temp switch in it to turn the fan on? If so, you should get a SPAL fan controller and get it wired up to work as it is intended. The SPAL controllers are adjustable so that you can set them to come on and shut of at the proper temp for your truck. I put one in my truck when I cahnged the radiator and I used a newer style ('91 +) t-stat housing to put a temp switch in to run the fan...works great :cheers:

Well...I am thinking track width, which is 58", so they may be 60"... in which case the CJ axle would be short even in the wide track version.

:hmm: MJ axles are 58", which should be the same as a wide track CJ from what I remember.

What problem do you have other than the motor running slow? Sounds like it might be time for a new fan assembly to me...

Well...if it has the one piece replacement and doesn't use the CAD anymore, then that would explain the popping. Hubs should correct that for you and help with vibes possibly. It sure would be nice to know what type of locker was n the front axle though... :brows:

To own a nice piece of property in the mountains near a good off raoding area with some cabins to rent to Jeepers, a big shop to work on the Jeeps that we would have built to rent out to folks that want to come, but can't bring their own.

Exactly... If it's wide track, you should be OK, but narrow will not work. ;) . The 8.8 will keep your bolt pattern the same where the CJ D44 will have a 5on5.5 pattern. I'm sure there would have to be some custom working done to use the lift kit with a different axle than it's intent.
