Replacement Fuel Injector Install Writeup?
BLHTAZ replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's a very easy swap to do. I think hte biggest PITA that I found was the little wire clips that hold the electrical plugs on. If you have one of those curved, pointed "pick" tools it is much easier to get them off. I did it with a tiny screw driver, but it took a couple tries on each one. I lost a couple of the retainers, but it's no big deal...the plugs stay on anyway. Other than that, it's just disconnecting the fuel lines and unbolting the rail. You will probably want to have the fuel line quick disconnect o-ring replacement kits ready as it will be a good idea to do them while you have it apart. You can do the swap without taking the lines off, or the rail out, but it's much easier if you remove the rail completely. I also found it helpful to smear just a VERY little bit of grease on the new injector o-rings to make them slide back in the rail and head easier. Be careful not to get any grease over the ends of the injectors. I tried pushing the new ones in the head without the grease and ripped an o-ring, forcing me to take the whole thing back apart again. -
I would buy it, but with the definite intention of getting that Chevy crap out from under the hood. Get a real AMC motor in there as it should be.

Nice truck. I have been wanting one for a long time too. I do agree on the trade-in deal though. They probably put $300 in it on real trade value and took $2700 off of hte truck that you bought. There is no way that they gave $3000 for the MJ. I spent many years working in dealerships as a salesman, a tech, and in parts...I know the tricks. ;) What matters most, though, is that you are happy with your decision

That is the right way to think. It does not make sense to try and piece things together. Save a little more money and do it right to start with

Swine Flu...??? :dunno: Haven't heard of that one. I guess any animal can get the flu...

Yea...I know that kid. I think he may be 21 now, but as far as I know, he still lives with his parents. He builds some nice stuff, sells it and starts over again. He has built at least three big trucks in the last 4 years...two Superduty's and one Dodge that I know of...all diesels. He is a nice guy and does quality work. He even drove all the way from Tampa to Orlando one day just to help me out with out YJ for about 3 hours on time.

A steering stabilizer will do nothing for DW. It may temporarily hide it (not likely), but it is not a fix. Steering stabilizers are way over-rated...I took the one off of our Wrangler and threw it away years ago with no ill effects. The root of the problem needs to be found, and it is likely in the wheel balance and track bar area. The other components such as control arms and tie rods can be contributors, but track bar and balance are typically the culprits.

You are one of a HUGE minority that would say good things like that about MT Claws. I worked for 4 Wheel Parts for about 2 years, and over 80% of the Claws that we sold came back because they sucked. They DO NOT ride good on the road, they are not good for many things off road, but I will say that I have heard they are OK in mud. That said; I have heard nothing about the new MT/R's yet, but yes, the old ones were junk. Out of your choices, I think you would be happy with the BFG M/T, or the Bighorns either one. Personally, if I were going with an M/T, it would be the ProComp Extreme M/T.

Yep...not far. All of my family is still in the Oil City / Franklin area where I grew up. It's only about an hour to Erie from where they are.

I just told Tina tonight that I was thinking about trying another run of CC shirts. Do ya'll think it's time??

That's a decent possibility. We would likely be coming through that area between 2 & 4 PM on the 23rd. We typically drive to Beckley, WV and stop for the night.

It looks like there is a very good chance that we will be making a road trip the last week of May. It is going to come down to nearly a last minute decision, so I can not offer to make "definite" plans until after the 18th of May. Probably heading up on the 23rd / 24th , and returning on the 30th / 31st. We will be traveling in my 2002 Dodge Ram with nothing planned to be in the bed, so if you need anything moved that will be closely along our route, we'll be happy to help. CLICK HERE to see the route we will be taking.

Sounds painful  :rotf:

...for now, we are excited to have our first outside retailer carrying some of our t-shirts. They have 3 designs right now, but are vowing to carry more soon. See it here... --> http://www.motogemsjewelry.com/ :D

I run the new Norton 360 v3.0 on our laptop, but I do not use anything on my PC. My wife uses the laptop, and she is not real savvy about certain things, so I feel better having it protected. I have used Norton before and been very frustrated with how it slowed things down, among other issues, but this new v3.0 is quite good and has received some great ratings recently. Kapersky is definitely a good one to use too...if you are going to use anti-virus.

 Dark Green or Dark Blue...either one are my favorites.

I'm still using IE6 - that's probably why I'm having problems. I used IE7 for quite a while, but it was rather quirky. I have been real happy with IE8 so far...5 weeks now since I downloaded it on both my PC and laptop, and not one browser crash yet

I use IE 8. Have no trouble with eBay. I tried Firefox a while back, but it was huge PITA...I much prefer IE8.

Lift Amount & Tire Size Chart?
BLHTAZ replied to WNC_MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As a general rule, a 235/75/15 will be the largest tire not to rub. Most lift manufacturers have charts that tell you what size tire is the max for what lift. Call someone like 4 Wheel Parts and they will be able to give you a run down on it. -
He ain't smart 'nough to be a redneck... :ack:

:agree: I have generally seen them in the $100 - $150 range.
