Mini M-715 ... that's pretty cool  :D
-
It is completely normal for any pre-HO 4.0L to take several turns before firing. Mine had new plugs, wires, cap & rotor when I bought it and I replaced the injectors and the IAC shortly after getting it...it still takes several revolutions to get going.

Now...to save you some time & effort...the best thing you could do is to open the cover and shim the vacuum motor over in to the locked position and forget about it. The other option would be to get a POSI_LOK for it and do away with that worthless vacuum system. There are also quite a few articles out there on building your own Posi-Lok with bycycle cable too.

OK...back to the original topic... :brows: Here are a few of my favorites. The first one I did a little work on myself...the second I just changed the top title  The rest are just Google finds.

Yep...this one has already changed the forecast path many times so we'll keep prayin' that it finds somewhere else to go.

I honestly was hoping it would come to FL and save LA the grief again so soon, but it looks like the news is not good right now.

Help - Electrical/starting
BLHTAZ replied to The_Slow_Norris's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I think they have no clue and they don't have the balls to admit it. -
It should be complete as I have never seen our cables come as just the inner part. Let me take a look and see if I can find a dealer with one and get them to look at it.
-
I would just do a 1.75" spacer in the front to level the truck out and be done with it for a 29" tire. My truck had the 235's on it when I bought it and they rubbed a little bit, but not bad. A 3" lift is going to have a fair amount of space around the tire, but I personally like the look of lots of tire room and I hate the stuffed in look.
-
I can still get it. The 2wd cable w/o speed control is $31 CC price (+ ship). The 4wd version runs about $2 more.

 Awesome rigs. I am jealous...especially of the CJ9-B

new Comanche owner, questions
BLHTAZ replied to billyray's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just looked up the wiper assembly for another member a couple days ago. The only way it can be had through the dealership is in a complete assembly that includes the motor and all linkage if the linkage is what is needed. We can get a remanufactured motor for them without the linkage though. Here is the weird part... - Reman Motor = $195 CC member cost + $20 core -- ($240 retail) - Link assembly with motor = $175 CC member cost -- ($250 retail) ---both prices are plus shipping of course-- The problem being...the motor is still no problem to get, but it's reman so there will be a $20 core charge on it. The linkage is not available out of any of my warehouses and only a few dealers around the country show to have it so if anyone is interested, please let me know your location and I will see if there is a dealer near you that may have the linkage. -
I'll look in to it in the AM...

Probably about 10" +/- ...
-
It may be considering that it would have the added length of the t-case to span.
-
Absolutely...that is a terrific find. Iknow a guy here in FL that found one that was in a little better shape than that one, but he paid A LOT more than that for it.
-
 :D That is quite incredible, but not something that really gets me going. I just don't see the thrill in going fast...anyone can do it and it takes no skill. I would rather be crawling over rocks at 1-2 mph personally
-
Looks solid  Nice truck...now what are the project plans? :D
-
If you want an HO...it will have to be '91 or newer ;) . You may find an XJ for that kind of money in "decent" shape, but you will be hard pressed to find an MJ that doesn't need some work for that. No that it can't be done as I got mine for that and it was in great shape needing only minor stuff  .

You can't tow anything with any SRT vehicle except the Jeep. The Dodge trucks specifically say no towing/hauling...they are a play thing only. The Jeep has only recently had a hitch come out for it, but it's limited to 2000lbs (I believe) and you have to change the exhaust system to put it on so it ends up costing like $2000 just to get a 2000lb towing capacity  .

mustang 5.0 to jeep fuel injector
BLHTAZ replied to jeepman09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Better fuel economy, smoother running & idle, better acceleration...just to name a few. The four hole design of the Ford Motorsport injectors makes a finer mist of the fuel and a more efficient, thorough burn. Just FYI...the injectors are not specific to a Mustang or a 5.0L engine. They are used in many Ford engines as well as some BMW's and probably others that I have not researched yet ;) . -
I agree...I got a roll/light bar from a 2001 Ranger. When I did the measurements prior to the purchase I found that they were very close and it worked out fine.

You can get one at a dealership for less than $30. I can sell you one for $24 shipped if you want to wait a few days to get it. The part number is 56026782 if you wish to take that to a local dealer and get one.

Differential Case Sizes?
BLHTAZ replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
A differential "case" ( to me ) would mean the complete axle housing (exterior) that the carrier is mounted in. -
It should not have a PCV valve as our trucks do not use them in a 4.0L. If it has a PCV valve it is something someone has rigged up. My previous links show what is needed. The picture below is not great, but it shows what the set up should look like. You should need #1 and possibly #2...
