  1. OX lockers are the way to go. I would much rather have to take a minute or two and adjust a cable than to have an air line get broken, leak, pinch etc, etc... I can't wait to be able to afford them for our YJ
  2. Unfortunately...many times when the battery wiring gets shorted and melts down, it fries the ECU. I believe someone on here not long ago put the wrong battery in and because it was too tall, the hood hit it, caused a severe short and then it would not start. The end result was a fried ECU as I recall. Battery wiring is one of those things that needs to be looked at about as much as checking for rusted out floors in these trucks. The big difference is that the wiring can cause the entire truck to go up in flames...the floors just cause wet feet :brows: .
  3. No, no...you should be able to get them aftermarket for half of that. I just bought a "new" compressor for our YJ for $189. The evap should not be too far from that same price in the aftermarket. They are discontinued through us (dealership) now, but the compressor alone was $656 when available  .
  4. Exactly...when they get stubborn...you just apply MORE POWER :wrench: :brows:

Yep...we have worked all the way through except last night we closed at 5:30 instead of the normal 7:00 PM.
  6. I don't know where you are as your location is not filled in, but here in FL, it would be worth about $2500 MAX....and I personally would not pay more than $1500 to maybe $1800. They go for lot more further north & west though when in good shape.

Thanks for the thoughts and offer. We are doing fine here, but it's great to have friends to go to if needed. They are saying the "Fay" is likely to be a retired name. They have never retired a Tropical Storm name before...only highly destructive hurricanes.
  8. Exactly... If you go SYE, you must change the DS to one with a slip joint, otherwise even small flexing of the suspension in every day driving could cause damage to the t-case, DS or rear axle.
  9. That is the long & short of it. I have always gone with 2 degrees low on the ones I have done.

 MAN...today has been the worst day yet. We have been getting winds at 25-30 MPH with gusts going to 45. We have seen near 8" of rain fall in just the last 12-18 hours. It knocked our power out at work for a short time today and they actujally closed us down 1.5 hours early. JT... The bed has a bunch of leaves & sticks in it right now, but it has not moved ;) .

Nothing around here. We haven't seen winds over about 25 MPH yet. Not a lot of rain either.
  12. That is two answers...one must be removed ;)
  13. Man...I wish someone would give me a free '75 F250. That would be the axles I want for under our YJ. The broken axle can be fixed without a lot of trouble unless the housing is damaged. ;)

Well...in the last 30 minutes we have gone from total calm and no rain to 20 - 25 MPH gusts and heavy rain. It's gonna be a long wet day... ...BUT...I am ready with lot's of ... ...and all of the normal essentials as well ;) .
  15. Yes...Dodge did make 4 door trucks in the 90's, but they are called Quad Cab's, not Crew. The "Crew Cab" is the one with the smaller suicide style doors in the back ;) ...just an FYI  Personally, I would trade up to a Diesel to get the better MPG. My 4.7L Ram gets about 12 MPG right now and the Diesels are getting 19 - 23 MPG from the guys that I have talked to around here. That is definitley worth the change even with the price of Diesel fuel being what it is I would save about $120 a month. I have never been a GM type. Dodge is always my first choice, but I really do like the old Fords wit the 7.3's.

Tracy... Not mine...I'm just "baby sitting" for a couple months until the rightful owner can come get it ;) . I picked it up in Fruitland Park for him.

This is the 5 day showing right now... I haven't been here as long as mjdoa, but I have been trough a few of them now. I know that Charlie was in a very similar position back in 2004 when he went from a strong Cat 1 to a Cat 4 in a matter of 2-3 hours so it's always dangerous. We are prepared for the worst, but don't expect it.

We're watching it (obviously), but still working tomorrow as of now. She is gaining strength and looking more impressive.
  23. Here ya go. Google is a great thing... :brows: :D
  24. Wow...that is quite the spasm. I have issues with spasms in my mid-back area (T10 - L3 area) and two herniated discs in my neck right now at C5-6 & C6-7, but I have not had anything that bad yet. Have you had MRI's done to determine the cause?
  25. 8) Cool...thanks. Got one for our YJ. I already have it, but I noticed that they don't have any MJ listing.
