Injector options for the 2.5 TBI?
BLHTAZ replied to jteckmann's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Your options are pretty limited from what I have been able to find out. They are discontinued from Jeep and there doesn't seem to be a lot of options in the aftermarket either. If you have found solution options...make your choice and get it done  -
Sweet... By the looks of all that...I would say you did it in 4 Beers. Nice work :D
-
You could always stop by Harbor Freight for one of these.
-
Yeah...at that time of night I have already been sleeping for about 4 hours ;)

8) Cool... Just be sure to tell him that you are the guy that I called him about so he will give you that price. I told him to expect a call from Dave so hopefully that is your name ;)

Yep...I know Ft Pierce. We are there at least once every year for the local Jeep Club (Treasure Coast) show. We travel all over the state to shows with our business selling T-Shirts, Hats etc, etc... ;) Anyway...back to the Lock-Right... I just talked to Mike at JeepersDen and he said he could sell you one for $329 (discounted price). They are a bit higher than I remember and Mike said that they were $279 - $289 range about a year ago, but like everything...they have gone up. Check them out at www.JeepersDen.com if you wish and give Mike a call. I told him that we were having this conversation and to possibly expect your call

That link is for a spacer for the unit, not the lock-right itself. I don't know if you know Ricky from JeepersDen in Orlando, but he has run his competition YJ (2.5L & D44's w/4.88 gears) on these for several years with 35" BFG Krawlers and has never broken one. I have seen him break driveshafts & u-joints though.

I will ask him on Monday

That's it, but I thought you could find them cheaper than that. I personally would never buy from Quadratec, but that's my beef with them. If you have a decent mechanical knowledge and follow the instructions...you can do it. It is just a replacement for the spider gears so you don't have to take the carrier out of the axle. The basics of it are simple...just take the diff cover off, remove the spider gears and install the lock-rite according to instructions. That makes it sound very simple, and as I said, it's not terribly hard, but it does require a medium level of mechanical aptitude and some patience  .

Interesting info... I have never heard of anyone running diesel oil in a regular engine before. I know the bearing job can be done without removing the axle as our engine guy at the dealership has done several of them like that since I have been there, but I don't know all the specific answers for you on the other stuff.

As far as I know, you can get a lock-rite for them. You should be able to find one in the $250 - $300 range and they are not a difficult job to do.

Again...it depends on the laws in your state, but here when ours was damaged by the 15 year old, his parents insurance had to fix it regardless of the cost. Total loss was not an option. The repairs came to 98% of the value according to the body shop that did the work, but they had to fix it. IMO...$900 out of that is getting reamed, not lucky. They should have had to have it fixed for you...not just hand you money and walk away  . I guess if you are happy though, that's what matters  .

Not being a smartass, but... ;)  Did this only start after you put the diesel oil in it? Just wondering because the oil may be too heavy and you may have to back off to a regualr 10-30.
-
If you have the facility, ability and finances...then Hell yeah!! I would if I had all of that
-
Nope...haven't seen much of that since I moved out of PA in 1985. I lived in NC (Raleigh area) for 7 years, so I saw a little there, but you are right about the benefit in snow.

I put a trac-lock in my Ram and it definitely helps in that type of driving. The truck is our tow vehicle and often gets on sandy soft ground. I definitely noticed a difference in it's ability to get through that stuff. Straight, flat type driving it will be noticeable...off camber stuff will still allow a one wheel issue  .

OK... :laughin: We pronounce it HUNDAY around here. ;)
-
OK... Just one question... what the hell is a "honday" ?
-
To get that much lift, you are asking for trouble with a cheap kit like that. Always remember...you get what you pay for and when you see a "deal" like that...it's not usually a "deal" in the end. The Motion Offroad Lift Kits appear to be very complete and good quality, but you will need to save a bit more money to get good stuff.

Looking for Fuel injector seals
BLHTAZ replied to bobweiser's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There should be three for the fuel lines...two on the rail and one down a little lower on the left side of the engine I believe. I'll have to check on a price for the ones on the tranny as I know they are different. -
Looking for Fuel injector seals
BLHTAZ replied to bobweiser's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah...that is robbery when you consider that retail on it is $19.77. I would sell it to CC members for $12.50 + shipping. -
It's simply a bunch of people logged in to one site and talking live on the internet via thier keyboards instead of typing a message in a BB like this and waiting for a reply to come. We tried it for a while on the forums that I Admin on, but it was much more work for us than it was worth. The site patrons enjoyed it, but it just did not really make sense to try to keep it up to us. My advice to Pete would be to research it thoroughly before making any commitments as it can be a real PITA for the site Admin & mods.

:USAflag: AWESOME... I actually added that video to the home page of my personal website.

I voted "what" because I have no clue what this is about. If any of you have ever read the Bible or gone to Church, you would know that God says that no man will know the day or time that he will end the world as we know it. All the Mayan crap and future predicting wacko's mean nothing...never have and never will ;) . It's all just a bunch of garbage to give people something to do :laughin:
