  1. Thats awesome mileage, I might consider a 2.5 as a D.D....
  2. Oh, ha, duh, my bad. I didnt read it right. So yea I should have the right yoke, I pulled it off a 90-something Cherokee at the junkyard a few years ago and havent used it, since I'm still using the Dana 35. Out of curiousity mvusse, what kinda mpg does your 2.5 Comanche get?
  3. Weird, it appears to be a 26 spline yoke... I couldve swore I got it of a chrysler 8.25
  4. I think I have one sitting around, I would have to check if its a 29 spline, but it probably is.
  5. My friken top driver door hinge is busted off too and my door sags pretty bad, what do yoou think a body shop would charge to reattach it?
  6. Its the ballast resistor (I don't mean to harass 88eliminator, ha) and its kinda shaped like the alamo.
  7. I replaced the tc cover on my 4.0 and it sucked hardcore. I took off and replaced my leaky oil pan gasket and.had to remove the a/c bracket (you might not have to on a 2.5) but the alternator bracket had to be removed too, as well as all the fans. It actually felt easier to put back on, minus the oil pan. As far as I know, the 2.5 and 4.0 covers are very similar if not the same.
  8. My MJ sat in a field 8 years prior to me gettting it, so the suspension was fubar from the start. You'll most likely feel your heart drop to your @$$the and firmly apply the brake when you get the good 'ol death wobble.
  9. Ballast resistor to be exact, its shapped kinda like The Alamo.
  10. Check the knock sensor and maybe even the MAP sensor. I hear the knock sensors either break or go bad kinda often, and I believe the map sensor has something to do with engine load pressure. And check the coil too, if acceleration seems to be a problem.
  11. Yea be sure the harness is from an 87-90 Comanche Or Cherokee and all should be well.

  13. I didnt get more than 10,000 miles out of my last STOCK track bar before it went bad and eventually came loose. This seems to be a common problem for MJs because another guy I met with an MJ said his does the same thing more often. Your problem is a bit different than mine, but it's the same area.
  14. Id get a paper gasket with some bonded gasket to put around it. I put a rubber gasket on my oil pan and I was not impressed.
  15. I refuse to take my MJ through a winter in Minnesota for this reason...
  16. Check your coil too, my truck was reluctant to accelerate once before and I simply did a check on my coil (took me 5 minutes), cleaned the terminals, and it was all go after that.
  17. I would check for a fuel problem, my MJ acts up sometimes when I take hills and I'm sure I'm running rich on fuel. It just doesn't bother me enough to troubleshoot it yet ha
  18. Hey, that's super low mileage on an MJ, and if you just plan on having some fun with it, rivet some sheet metal onto the floorboards. And a 4wd swap is easy, especially since there are tons of automatic XJs sitting at junkyards(around me at least).
  19. My ds door hinge is starting to fall off, so maybe look at that too.

    Tail Lights

I have a passenger s tail light for $40 plus shipping.
  21. can I put ball joints off a 2wd front axle onto my Dana 30? There brand new and I can't sell theold 2wd axle...
  22. First off, I have a Dana 30 front axle on my 89 MJ 4.0 from a 90 cherokee that doesnt wanna disconnect. The blue vacuum hose isnt hooked up because I don't know where it goes, but my 4wd works fine. it just bothers me enough now that I wanna know whats wrong. Second, my MJ wants to idle at 2100 rpm's if its parked on uneven or pointed up an incline. if I turn it off and let it sit for a minute it stops, but sometimes the idle speed increases as I drive. I've replaced my idle air control, so I'm lost. Thanks.
  23. Thats odd...I got a new speedo cable from NAPA for my 4wd conversion and it was the type you pull back and hook up, and it was around 95 inches long but it works okay,
  24. I think if you get real short muffler, like a flowmaster or short glasspack, it can make it in front of the rear leaf spring mounts. I wanted to do the same thing youre doing but my muffler was too long so I chopped off my tailpipe.
  25. I had just a cat on my MJ when I first bought it which sounded sick, but it was way loud and fumegated the cab. I put a walker-thrush 26-inch glasspack on it now, and it sounds pretty ballsy when its warmed up.
