  1. You will need: Radiator Radiator brackets Radiator upper & Lower radiator hose PS pump if you have the PS on the 2.5 4.0 Fuel lines to hook up the the fuel line All the wiring under the hood Computer Trans Dash with all the wiring inside Fuel pump / fuel sending unit and some other items I know I have not thought of. The power dis box and fuse box on the wiring will have your fuses.
  2. They would not start building them untill they have a production line ready And they would offer different engines so they could make you buy the more $$$ engine package
  3. Drive train = trans + T-case. It makes it easy and quick to bolt the trans & t-case to the 4.0 and then slide in as one unit.
  4. I like it, looks like a jeep and not all the other trucks out  If I am looking for a Super Duty truck I will get a 3/4 to 1 ton.
  5. Yes, put a 4.0 HO into a 89. The key is to have all the parts that you need when you start and have some help. If you can have 2 helpers is a lot better. One can pull everything out inside while two pulls the 2.5 and drive train. Also helps to have the right tools
  6. If you have everything you can do it in a weekend. But how much do you have to pay your professional mechanic ? If you have to pay him / her very much you may want to look into something else.
  7. Just think of it this way, in 20-30 years after the JY's start curshing all of our MJ/XJ's we will be looking at the current Jeeps to run  And I have to tell you the auto Co's are only going to build what majority of the new car buyers want ;) So you have 2 ways to go: Adapt to the new Jeeps or start buying MJ / XJ's like Wildman so you can have a 50yr supply of parts
  8. Great pics and viedo  Now we both are sick that we did not get to go
  9. Wish we could have made it  Maybe in Oct. we can make it out to see the Badlands
  10. The yellow did not do anything for me  But I will order the red one with all the options:cheers: Also my daughter would like to order a blue one and the wife would like one in black :D First truck my wife liked that she would give her ZJ up for
  11. Can I order one in Yellow :D
  12. The tires and rims need to go :D But that is one nice ride and who needs 2wd
  13. I just got word that my Wife and daughter will both be out of work as of the 17th, so my son and I will not make it out this time around  Can not use the money for play with not knowing how long it will take for them to find new jobs. Have fun and we will be right behind you on the trail in thoughts
  14. Also depends on how you drive and where ( drive around the mud or through). I have pulled my tractor on the trailer off road a lot and only had to use 4x4 maybe 3 or 4 times and that was on grades over 4% and my tractor is 2x the weight of the MJ.
  15. A week from this Friday
  16. That is what mine are ours are like, and you will be OK to clear it.
  17. :D :rotfl2: :clapping: :jump:
  18. Is that on the NC side or TN side? Some of the photos looks like it's around Telico Planes TN.
  19. Good luck on lowering the front lines  I was going to relocate the line lower but just had to put on YJ lines, You may get them to work if you take all the bends out of the steel line and do not secure it to the body, or if you have replaced the factory lines and have some extra steel line that you can pull down out of the engine bay.
  20. Where did you stay at??? The camp site looks like I have seen it somewhere ;)
  21. If you here air then it must be the booster seal.
  22. We have the same problem after the 8.8 & XJ pop valve switch. And the breaks worked fine prior to the switch  We replaced the booster last week after we put the auto in and I just got the new front lines on last night so I will bleed them tonight and let you know what I get. I am thinking it mat be traped air in the line somewhere that will have to have a vac pulled to clear it out  Most of the time when the booster goes you get a hard pedal, but this is like mush which is air most of the time
  23. My son " Charlie" and I " Charles" will make it :D Not sure if we will be in on Friday Night or Saturday morning. All depends on where we stay, My son wants to camp but if I do that I will not be able to move the next day :chillin: The Attica Inn is $72 and down the road but I can use my discount and get a room for $42 in Lafayette and drive in Saturday morning and have $30 more to put in the MJ :D Not looking good to bring anything other then the Ranger. 23 days to go and need shocks, tires and a bed, and it has not had is first road test  so unless I win the Lotto in the next week the MJ will not make this trip. And we have taken so many items off the Xj to put on the MJ that it will not be on the road till early next year  Any ch is good for the CB, If I do not get one in the Ranger prior to the trip I have a hand held 40 ch radio. Maybe when the time is near we can PM a list of cell phone #'s around so we do not have to post them
