  1. I replaced the dimer switch with one out of a 92. Unless a resistor for the headlights is built into the switch, it looks to be OK. I have 12.5v at the bulb socket grounding at the socket on high & low. As soon as I plug in the bulb the voltage drops to 0v just like I have a bad short somewhere. I even took the front light harness and bulbs from the XJ and pluged into the MJ and get the same thing. Also parking/turn lights work fine  I also have been able to do this from the dimer switch. Jumper from pass to flash power lead to the high / low light wires and the lights will work. Jumper from the main power lead to the high / low light wires and no lights. And I have power to the main lead until I jump it to one of the light wires and then it drops to 0v. I know this has to be a simple fix but I am at a loss
  2. Head light problem. If I pull the head light and test the socket I get 12.5V at the low and high side. plug in the head light and then get nothing. no light and no voltage  Where is the light relay? and anything else I need to check on?? Also If I pull the flash to pass the head lights work and yes both bulbs are good. Charles
  3. I had a 92 6.2 with a 5-speed. I got 22MPG when it was stock. It was great as a DD stock and you could not sak for better MPG on a 2500 ext cabe pick-up. But if you are going to be pulling any grain / hay / straw it will suck stock  After I put on my 3" body lift and 36" tires it was worse, I then put on a Banks turbo system and turned up the pump :brows: had good power them but MPG went to 11MPG  Good thing about the 92 6.2 is it has a mechanical injector pump and will hold up much better then the ele. injector pump. Charles
  4. Kind of found that out today after I pulled the sending unit / pump  The fuel gauge is working backwards, It's reading 3/4 tank when it should show 1/4. I will try the jumper and see what I get.
  5. The bed was toast so we are building a flat bed with roll bar for it and it will be black.
  6. I am not sure but I think it was. It was out of a doner and I did not check it.
  7. Right now the front is at 4.5", have to gat 2" spacers yet. The tires are my old ones off the Ranger and they are 265/75/15" whick work out to be something like 28" - 29" tires.
  8. It looks even better then the photos show. Was not sure about the yellow but it looks good.
  9. Well we went to start the 4.0 today for the first time after the swap. And we are running into problems :headpop: First on the lights: Pull the lights on and the marker lights come on but no low or high beam head lights  But have flash to pass lights when we pull the handle  Second problem is no power to the fuel pump. Have 12 volts of power at the relay but less then 1/2 a volt at the plug under the dash going to the pump. I ran hot wire to the pump and it starts and will run OK  Third problem is the gas tank sending unit is a 89 and my dash and wiring is out of a 93. Any way around this as the XJ sending unit will not mount on the MJ cage  Any ideals on what I should look at?
  10. Well we have a coat of paint on it. Could look better but not bad at 20'. Should have spent more on the paint gun I got and worked with some priot to paint the MJ  The kid is happy with it :D We are going to put the Comanche Club graphice in the front window in the morning.
  11. It was not to bad, just put the MJ on end and filled till it was to the top of the neck. Problem was getting the MJ back down on the ground :rotfl2:
  12. Went off and forgot to lookup the type and amount ot fluid need for the 231 t-case and AW-4. Thanks,
  13. Thanks, I will have to try the stuff. Charles
  14. Need some info on POR-15. Is it to stop rust, a patch system that will keep the rust area from growing or a patch system to cover the rust until the hole getts larger? Got the carpet out of the XJ and the floor looks bad. several areas that will need new steel and a lot that should be cut out and replaced unless POR-15 is the answer.
  15. If you are putting it in a 91+ you will be ok, If something older then a 91 bet you have missed something :teehee: Charles
  16. Doing that right now  Just when you think you have everything you find something else you need :headpop: Charles
  17. I would just look for a good used on on here or at the local JY. I just got a HO from wildman with only 72,00 and it looks like new under the covers. If you were close to Ohio I could handle the swap for you  Charles
  18. Thanks, Wildman I will send you a PM.

    The Fleet

I have seen 7 of the 8 :D I have the land, but we have pushed the limit with the XJ over the weekend with the wife  Another MJ would push her over the edge :teehee:
  20. Yes we got the dolly and it worked great. Yes, should have got the fender, light pan and the coil plug. Been looking to see which plug on the harness plugs into the coil on the MJ and found that it had been cut off the wiring harness  Took about 20 min with the XJ to see where everything on the MJ goes.
  21. Not sure what he hit, but just the header, fender and bumper. WE had pulled the header grill and lights prior to taking the photos.
  22. Never though of that. Any special paint? Charles
  23. It's a 92. Not sure about the rims yet :ack: They are 16" ZJ rims, the gold has to go if I keep them but even then not sure I can take looking at them  Out of all the rims that could have been on it I got it had to be this set 8)
