  1. All that work and I would put $100 down that that thing over heats with the stock cooling set up, in addition to the two electric fans. Thats not enough cooling got that v8 in such a small place.
  2. Found the picture
  3. Yup, I bought mine from summit about two years ago and just got them on the me a few months ago. When I bought them they were branded as a "summit nomad" like mentioned . But they came in a "Ultra Motorsport" box. I have pictures of the box some where. Here is a link but says they are not available. I found them on eBay also when I purchased them through summit. Might try there. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-174-5865GN
  4. Looks great. such a clean mj
  5. Not so much. Mostly Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sand Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead are the most abundant game fish. My family has a beach house on mile marker 4.5 in Kitty Hawk, I am very familiar with the outer banks and have spent many of summers there. It is a beautiful place and the food is so good! Me and the wife plan to go back again to the beach house in a year or two.
  6. Yep! put a few lines in the water while we were working on the duck blind. Got a few trout, hard heads and a sting ray.
  7. Had a great time this weekend working on the duck blind in the bay, getting it all freshly camoed up and ready for the season. While I was at it enjoyed some grilling on the beach and a few brews. The comanche was breaking necks all weekend and got some great pictures to share with CC. Weekends like this remind me to be thankful for all the blessings.
  8. The weekend went fairly successful. The Comanche is now at its new home for the winter, 15 miles from the beach and duck hunting spots. Hopefully I get some good use out of her over the winter. Burned about a whole tank of gas on the beach over the weekend. It was great to have the ole girl in 4x4 again. The baja claws seemed to walk through all the soft sand and the front locker made a big difference. The truck defiantly broke a few necks on the beach and got quite a few complements on it at the little town gas station.
  9. you would need adapters, the bolt pattern are not the same.
  10. Wow! Great job! Way to do something everyone doubted. Please make a write up so this can be documented. This is one of the few parts that are not made any more, and before you proved wrong, was thought to be a non rebuildable unit.
  11. Well the Comanche was suppose to get towed down to the coast for the rest of the year this weekend but it didn't work out. So going to try again this weekend and hopefully get some time on the beach with it. Friday though, I was able to install the new rear LEDs to replace the old crappy filament fog lights. They look kinda funny because they are so small but they are the only ones that I could find that would fit in the existing light boxes I made into the bumper. They put out a good bit of light to assist in recovery. Much more than the previous ones.
  12. I made my roof rack out of a eazy go golf cart roof basket. Then took some fabrication to make it how I wanted. I am probably about to try to sell it and run a lund visor. I have the fabrication documented in my build thread: http://comancheclub.com/topic/34531-1988-jeep-comanche-aka-the-penny-sniffer-pic-heavy/
  13. Also diffs are not the same as a mjs. The spring perches are not in the same place. I can't remember if they are more inward or out ward but you will not have a aligned spring when you bolt it up...
  14. look for a H.O I believe 90-92? can't remember if 89 got the update or if it is still renix. Bucket seats are always cool in my book and front vent windows and a rear sliding window is something I always wish my truck. That small of a cab doesn't get much air flow on the road with just the windows down.
  15. I had the same problem and did all the research. I came to the conclusion that it is next to impossible replace. I was lucky enough to track down a NOS whole fan hub assembly.
  16. Also, correct me if I am wrong... but if you are going to use a typical forklift propane tank, those are about 8 gallons. SO, lets say your Mj is getting 15 mpg city (which is what i see around here as a avg for the 4.0). When running LP account for the 20% loss in fuel efficiency (referring to statement earlier) you will be taking a 3 mpg hit. (15mpg x 0.20= 3 mpg) therefore, (15mpg - 3mpg =12mpg) Now most Comanche fuel tanks are 18 gallons compared to the 8 gallon forklift tank. So right there you are taking another big hit for the amount of miles between fill ups. For comparison with a stock Comanche you can get some where around (15mpg x 18 gallons = 270) 270 miles between fill ups. With your LPG you are looking at (12mpg x 8 gallons = 96) 96 miles between fill ups. So unless you had multiple tanks full ready to swap in, in the bed. Or were running a dual tank set up, you really limiting where and what you can do with your truck. Not to mention that you would most likely have to go out of your way just to fill up seeing a how there are not LP refill suppliers on every corner. So are you really saving that much in fill ups to go through all that trouble? What are you really planing on doing with the truck? Wheeling,DD, weekend driver? The reason most people that switch to propane is not for the price of gas, its because with a propane set up you can go wheel at extreme angles without having to worry about fuel spilling out of your fuel tank and being able to use a carbed engine without it getting choked out with fuel on inclines/declines.
  17. Had some fun with the fork lift over the weekend. Double checking brake line and driveshaft length and clearances. The forks on the fork lift were 36" off the ground for the front and I forgot to measure the back, but they were about the same, maybe a little more. Also measured for bump stops, I am thinking about doing some fender flares and and maybe looking at 37s in the future. Does anybody know of good options for adjustable bump stops? Some that I can set to correct length now and still used with some adjustment after 37's are one?
  18. Had the same thing happen to me in my mj but didn't end up rolling the truck, there was slack in the gears in the rear end or something was broke. When the trans down shifted as I started slowing down with a stop light in sight the rear end clocked up and sent me in to a spinning skid (was also wet(and so were my pants after that skid)). I had no Idea what happened till I got the truck home and It wouldn't move. The I pulled off the diff cover and it all made sense. There was a piece of a spider gear wedged between the ring and pinon. Everything was locked up. Sorry to hear the bad news, glad to hear you are ok though.
  19. I have done it. You can run it 3 different ways. Through the vacuum system, gas system, and oil. The gas system is as easy as pouring the bottle on the gas tank after a full fill up, so why not. As far as putting it in the crank case, I am leary of that and have not risked it. But I had the best results from putting it in the vacuum system. Follow the instructions on the can and you will smoke out every mosquito for miles around if your truck has never had it done. All that smoke is the carbon build up and other junk burning out off the intake and head. I noticed a large improvement in smother idle and over all response from the engine. I have used seafoam on about 5 of my cars now with no negative effects.
  20. Whats wrong here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-COMANCHE-PICKUP-TRUCK-WALL-CLOCK-FORD-DODGE-CHEVROLET-/112097129485?hash=item1a1982740d:g:cUMAAOSw65FXsl8M&vxp=mtr
  21. No such thing as a 1977 comanche
  22. I down for that. and you actually not all that far to ship. I would think you could just roll it up tight and tape the crap out of it and ship it like that. can you try to do that so we can get some shipping dimensions and go from there?
  23. Why are you wanting a SYE?
