  1. 3.54 is one of the gear ratios available in 1986 with the 2.5L. My 1986 with the 2.5L has 3.54s.
  2. That's true. Not an opinion. They either fit or not. Thanks a lot Don.
  3. Does anyone else have an opinion on whether the brackets are the same or not? Thanks
  4. :fool: :rotfl2:
  5. If you look on your PA title under Body Type it will say TK which means Truck. In PA they go by numbers instead of letters. Like Weight Class 1, 2, 3, Etc. If you don't plan on hauling much with the truck you're allowed to lower the Registered GVWR to 5,000 Lbs which is the lowest you can go and that is Weight Class 1. That's what mine is registered under and the registration fee is $58.50 a year.
  6. If it's titled as a truck the state won't let you put anything but a truck plate on it.
  7. It will be registered as a truck just like mine is.
  8. Sorry about that. :rotfl2:
  9. Thanks. Did the avatar get you? :rotfl2:
  10. My factory shop manual shows that the lifters can be removed on the 2.5L by pulling them up through the openings in the head where the push rods go down through. I hope this info helps.
  11. Are the mounting brackets for the factory rear step bumper the same for both the longbed and shortbed Comanche? Thanks
  12. My 1986 2.5L has the V belt setup on it too.
  13. The temperature sending unit is located on the top rear of the head on the drivers side right beside the valve cover. I would try changing the sending unit first because I have had several of these go bad on various vehicles and this is usually the cause for the gauge not working correctly. I hope this info helps.
  14. skeletor, I sent you a private message. Thanks
  15. Not only that, someone put several emblems on this truck that don't belong on it. The Comanches with the 4.0L never came with the Fuel Injection emblem on the tailgate. This emblem was only used with the 2.5L. The Pioneer emblems below the Comanche emblems on the fenders are not correct either. I don't believe the Comanche Pioneer had these emblems originally, they only had the striping and the word Pioneer on the rear of the bed. The Pioneer emblems came from a Cherokee. Someone obviously put the Metric Ton emblem on the tailgate also because this is not a Metric Ton Comanche.
  16. I don't believe there were ever any metric ton shortbed comanches and if this truck was a metric ton it would have a Dana 44 rear axle. The rear axle in this truck is a Dana 35.
  17. You have to upload the photos to a photo hosting site first like Photobucket. Then you can post them.
  18. I don't think he's talking about the computer for the engine. He's talking about the computer or control box for the cruise control. It looks like this:
  19. Yeah, this is a repost. Here is a link to the other post about this truck on The Pub: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21596
  20. This truck is already for sale on this site. Here is a link to the For Sale post: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20438
  21. I posted the original picture over in the picture thread.
  22. Emissions Maintenance Timer for 86-90 MJs
  23. IAC stands for Idle Air Control. The IAC is located on the front of the throttle body and to the left of the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Here's a picture showing the IAC and TPS. I hope this info helps.
  24. That's interesting. It must be out of a 1984-1985 Cherokee. They had the Carbureted 2.5L.
  25. Yeah, if the 4th character in the VIN is a W then that means that it came with a 2.8L V6 originally. Someone must have put a 2.5L with a carburetor in it unless you meant to say it had a 2.8L in it. :hmm:
