no, i was changing out the fluid in the front diff along with pulling the axle shafts. I just noticed that pin and was not thinking clearly. being pissed off at the jeep wasnt helping my troubleshooting :P. The shafts should just slide out easily. Did you take off the brakes/caliper/wheel bearing? Not sure what you're having an issue with

Are you trying to remove the two peice inner axle shaft?

Center Console block off plate

That's pretty cool. I googled it real quick, Looks like you can add in that switch to pretty much any XJ, Just have to jumper into the ECU. I may end up doing that, Since i convereted my AC into a air compressor, The extra RPM @ idle would be great for extra air flow. Yea, unfortunately only 92 to 96 tried on 91 pin outs aren't there[emoji45] Awesome! I have the motor/Wiring/Dash out of a 95 :) -

by clips, do you mean in the diff? or clips for the u-joints themselves? The clips that hold the ujoints in place. Stock is C type, Which are known to pop out under a little stress & cause ujoint failure.

I have nates on mine, They're pretty beefy. First time i went out with them, I got them jammed on a very large stump & My 4x4 linkage came loose and shifted into 2wd. Had to be winched out, Ended up pulling the stump out of the ground completey with the sliders. -
This. Had the same issue when i first got my mj. Turned out to be the fuse for the "Rear window defrost" P/O Swapped the whole fuse box out of the parts xj he used for the motor swap.

LOL wtf jack. Man that sucks, At least you didnt get charged for reckless driving. I'm going to try and get a trip to sumas mt planned early next month. Need to try out the new front axle & Cage. I went to walker valley for my third time yesterday (Saturday) and I went in some jeep trails there. It's nice becuase they are all labeled and have names. After I do my axle swap I'm wanting to go there and hit some of the trails I rode on my quad. A lot of trails have too tight of corners for our long beds Yea, I've only gone up their once. Don't wheel your truck up there without someone with you, Its really easy to get stuck.

Congrats. It's always rewarding to drive it for the first time after doing a major swap like that.

Feeling bad about how much $$ you have in your MJ?

I love the comanche poking its head around the edge of the picture. -
Saw a VERY clean white metric ton comanche with stock mud flaps driving down the road about a week back, Looked great!

Would that work in a HP30? If so I'd diffenently want to buy it. It's a 4.10 carrier out of a hp d30 I went full locker, so i didnt have a use for the carrier.

Got the basic shell done for the cage, Still need to tie in a few things, Ran out of daylight today though. Been working on it a few hours here & there, havent had a chance to get a ton done at once. Should finish that part, Paint it & have it 100% on the truck tomorrow. Then just need to fab up the rear of the truck. Nephew decided to start jumpin all over it & yelling "SWING SWING SWING" :) -
Actually now that i think about it.. I have a perfectly fine 4.10 carrier sitting in my old d30 You could even re-use the 4.10 R&P if you wanted to save a little money. Let me know if you want it.
-
You'll definately need a new carrier to put 4.10's in that axle. Whats the current gear ratio in your truck? Why not re-use your current Tie-rods / Linkage? If you want to save money, You could swap brakes from your current d30, Assuming those are still in decent condition.

Turns out the bearings in the axle are fine, Its the R&P that are screwed up. :( -
because you can drop a 300 buck locker into an open carrier. you can't do that with a LS carrier. I always heard the carriers were one of the weakest links of the 8.8's & you shouldnt put a lunchbox locker in it, Unless its very light use?
