I'm still using IE6 - that's probably why I'm having problems. Don,Works fine for IE7 as well.

Don,If I only took pictures of my RENIX sender unit! If the reverse is true and we simply had to resolder the wire to the other leg to turn it into an HO compatible unit that would make my year! Thanks for all your diligent work on this.

01 TJ Motor in an 89 Comanche
jeepdoggydogB replied to dougreed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If it's an 01 TJ combo that tranny should be an NV 3550 good score! -
Just for clarification this is right off the installation instructions. You can get them here. http://www.teraflex.biz/category/tech/i ... tructions/ "Avoid high engine speeds when using the Low231 in low range in 4th or 5th gear with manual transmissions or with high gear automatics. This is common when driving in snow, mud, or sand. Because the gears are turning 50% faster and with the high gear ratio, it is possible for input speeds to reach 6500 RPM and cause damage to the transfer case. We recommend using a lower gear in high-range for higher speeds rather than running the Low231 at extreme RPM’s." I have never found a reason to use 4Low in 4th or 5 th gear.

Good info, also Tera doesn't recommend revving the tera in 4low beyond 2500 RPM if you are in a gear other than 1st as I recall.

It depends on what you want to do with your truck. I wanted a truck that I could drive to any trail, and still have a decent crawl ratio. I have 3.73 gears, 31's and a 5 speed. I try to stay in 4 hi in the mud and sand with the STT's aired down to about 20 psi. The 4 Low or 2 Low works great for hills, and trails with steep inclines, I don't have the guts to take my MJ on the rocks  but I would imagine the 4Low would be great. If you go with even lower gearing or have an auto you might want to think about a brake booster upgrade.

Damn it Joe, I'm a Comancheologist not a Wildlife Biologist!!! :rotfl2: And in that case I withdraw my apology to BLHTAZ. :waving: MIke looks like you got a winner of a dog right there, now if only there was a dog that could dress and smoke venison jerky

Lower Door Weatherstrip??
jeepdoggydogB replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, another discontinued part. Get 'em from Team Cherokee HERE. They call them a Water Shield. Thanks Don I will definitely check that one out, I have to replace a window balast in one of my doors so this should be a fun weekend project! -
Lower Door Weatherstrip??
jeepdoggydogB replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Add some new water dams in the doors too Joe if you want it really quiet, and a late model XJ hood pad. :D Don,What is a water dam? is it another discontinued part? I have the weatherstrip for the passenger side coming in tomorrow, the only other weather strip issue I have is a vent window leak. I bought a new weather gasket for it, but it looks like it will be a pain to install. :ack: -
Lower Door Weatherstrip??

Thanks Don, I located one and installed it on the drivers side door and was amazed at how much quieter it is despite my STT tires howling I could hear the radio a lot better. -
I think the first Eliminator package was 2wd in 1988, mine is a 1991 and 4 wheel drive. I once saw a 1992 Eliminator 4X4 for sale on ebay a few years back. As I recall it didn't get its reserve and bidding was as high as $10,000. Since 1992's are rare in general the Eliminator package might have added to its value.

Thinking about a dog (puppy)...maybe, suggestions?
jeepdoggydogB replied to SuperWade2's topic in The Pub
This is exactly why I will not go to a specific "rescue" organization if it is run by PETA or the SPCA. They charge a ridiculous amount to drop a dog off, Then they charge a lot to take the dog away. Often with no shots spaying or neutering. A buddy of mine went to gt a dog from a shelter, the guy in front of him in line just happened to be dropping a dog off. He like the dog and asked to have it. As he was walking out with his new dog, the lady from behind the counter came running out saying that he could not have a dog and that he had to pay (wearing tye dye and birkenstocks according to him), he got yelled at and she was threatening to call the cops and animal control on him. The shelter near my parents house requires a background check, 3 letters of recommendation, a letter from a vet (known to them, who allows them to inspect his/her clinic at will), as well as a contract allowing them to come inspect YOUR house at will and take the dog if it is not getting the treatment that THEY think it deserves. Dude for $500 you can get a fullbred cocker strait from a breeder, see its parents and their temperament, as well as it probably having first round shots. Honestly, you can probably get on craigslist and find a bunch of puppies for sale, once again already wormed and many with a first round of shots for next to nothing. People are always getting rid of litters on there, all they ask is that you be kind to the animal and give it a good home. Some may ask for a donation. Some of the bet dogs I had growing up were Mutts, and free. $500 is about what we paid, we got ours from their "stud" Willy Wonka. http://www.cockerpups.com/ -
A couple of years back wasn't there a red 1992 Eliminator on ebay that didn't reach reserve at $10,000?

fuel level sending unit
jeepdoggydogB replied to anthony's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Been there done that, if you can wait for a couple of days these guys claim to rebuild ANY sending unit within a couple of days. http://tristarrradiator.com/ The next guys claim to have hard to find units. http://www.fuelsender.com/fuel_send.html Your dilemna, you can find a junkyard and ask specifically for a 91 up fuel sending unit. More than likely the fuel pump will be worn out so you will have to replace it, it is also possible they will give you the 87-90 unit which will cause your gas guage to read backwards (before you ask me how I know listen to this) NOTE not work or child friendly! http://www.entertonement.com/clips/36597/Funny  :D  -
I feel for you meatgrinder, I think I am fairly old for this board at 48 and I cannot remember a worse economy. I will say a prayer for you and your family.

Thinking about a dog (puppy)...maybe, suggestions?
jeepdoggydogB replied to SuperWade2's topic in The Pub
Booooooo... :teehee: I think those pups are cute and sweet,, I've had two through the years,, one blond Cocker, I watched get hit by a car when I was about 9 or 10. His name was Biscuit and looked alot like your permed eared pooch.. The other was all black and was a OK dog. He was a terror to my brother (I think he used to tease him to much) There just dumb dogs in my eyes. Stubborn and duhhh.. I'm not knocking every single one in the world, just in general. So... I understand now Have a beer on me, no kid should have to see what you saw happen to their pooch. -

My God I hope we are man enough here to keep our recommendations to just that rather than belittling other breeds in order to make another look good. -

I prefer the Cocker Spaniel or the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, but you need to have references of the breeders. Some Cockers can be testy with small kids. Ours has a great temperament with kids (We got her from an excellent breeder in Kansas), hornbrod (Don) also has a Cocker Spaniel and from what I have seen is an excellent dog. The other dog in the picture is my favorite a miniature Dachshund that has really grown on us. She earned my admiration as her bravery has been unmatched in all the Dogs I have ever owned. I don't recommend Dachshunds for a family pet because they are stubborn and have a tendency to train us rather than the other way around but their bravery and loyalty have won my admiration. I am not saying a Dachshund can't be a family pet but you have to understand their strengths and weaknesses. All the dogs I have mentioned are great in small areas and need average walks and excercise programs. Some of the coolest Spaniels I have ever owned are Springer and Brittany Spaniels but they need to exercised on a regular basis. Those Dogs can really hunt! My Cocker and Dachshund are great for hunting at Costco when we get some chicken or a steak to BBQ but I love them all the same! They all love to sit in the Jeep when I wrench. Good luck, Joe (JDD) -
