  1. WOT is Wide Open Throttle I don't think you have one.
  2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-CHRYSLER-OEM-88-90-Cherokee-Vehicle-Speed-Sensor-VSS-33004761/162501870135?hash=item25d5ddc237:g:vCIAAOSw-89ZOMcj:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true
  3. If it is your CPS, this is what you want to find-
  4. You. Original Post or Original Poster. Put a fuel gauge on it so you can see what it's doing.
  5. Make a turntable using an old bearing unit and axle shaft. Media blast. Wash. Cut spokes and rim with coarse Roloc to remove damage. Wash. Paint relief areas between spokes your color of choice. Begin polishing spokes and rim with fine to polishing Roloc, this will also remove over spray from paint, take care because you are also creating a sharp paint line. Wash. Spray clear coat.
  6. Rare- the most abused word in the automotive lexicon. Will you get $30K at auction? No. Will a Californian pay $6-7K for it, likely. There are Californians here who can chime in but if I'm not mistaken this XJ should be emissions exempt so beyond the rarity and oddity the value may be in it's exemption. You have to know how to market it and who to market it to get it's greatest dollar value. Rare does not always equate to high dollar value. That said- Across the board, it seems as though the millennials have little appreciation for anything of historical value or cultural value, if not an outright rejection of it. We have kids ranging from 14 to 37 and I'm sure you fit in there somewhere, and I've seen it here on the boards, young guys just chop $#!& up till there's nothing left. I've been beating this drum for several years, there will come a day when there really is nothing left. It's yours, do as you wish.

  8. OP, I'm assuming that is a '85. The grille and headlights are not typical Wagoneer, it may be an early '85 produced in '84, just guessing since Jeep history lists '85 up with the diesel. IOWs it may be rarer than rare, that header looks original and is obviously early based on badge at driver's headlight. We'd like to see more details, more pics, more information. I'd love to find a solid unmolested '84-'85 XJ, I missed out on a couple and regret it, I'd love to have a keeper. I belong to another site which happens to have a Jeep discussion going on at the moment, I posted a link to this page there, here is an outsider's POV- I concur, prove us wrong, make yourself deserving of it or pass it one to someone who is.
  9. Turn the grille upside right and PRESERVE it! Just as it is. What are you paying for this?
  10. What's locked up? engine or trans? There is probably value there- would be nice to see pics though. Bed $450 TG $75 Drip rails $40 Vent covers $40 Tail lights $150 TC $150 Front axle $150 TB $100 Etc..... Guess you have to know what's what and what's what worth.
  11. Mine doesn't see off road abuse either. Still, I would not bother installing a POS D35 in it.
  12. From what '89 Jeep? an XJ? You'll have to do just as much work to fit the D35 as you will an 8.25. And you can get discs for the 8.25........bolt on. Find a good LS 8.25 with discs in 3.55...........should still be plentiful for about $150. This is a no-brainer.
  13. I turned 53 last month. Just wait. I still work circles round the 20-somethings.
  14. No more fused links. Ford part number BR3Z-14526-AA I went looking for brass to make my spacers, these can be found commercially but it was easier and cheaper to cut something up. $8 brass hammer at the Chinesium shop. Right hand elbow lugs can be ordered but I made my own instead of waiting another week, I'm not proud of it but it works. I could have altered the fuse and cut a relief for a straight lug but I wanted to be able if necessary to swap out the fuse in the field with no alterations, so, I made the elbow. The first one was an abortion, the second was a bit better. I get the yellow crimp couplers and remove the yellow covering then solder the joint, I then double up on the heat shrink tubing. This helped clean up the rats' nest around the starter relay. Done. Alt side is on the left @ 200amp and the power side is on the right @ 100amp. Yeah, I know, POS Walmart battery but I'm going with a high-end AGM in the future, just no need for a $3-400 battery sitting around for another year.
  15. How old are you?
  16. Pete, two points I'd like to make, publicly. Several months ago, at your suggestion, I sent Don a PM and asked to make peace with him. He responded, his last statement to me was to ask me to never contact him again. I'm not the only one who has not made a public statement regarding his death, it saddens me when anyone dies.....well, I'll leave it at that. For the most part, people are not monolithic nor are they superficial. There are two members here whom I've spoken to on the phone- adding a bit of human contact does make for better relationships on a forum. I agree, meet-ups would be nice. Jeep Invasion takes place here once a year, central SE location, maybe this year? Your site will be fine, let it breathe a bit, may even take on a new life. Lastly, I've belonged to other sites also which work so hard to be the 'friendliest' that they are not friendly at all, actually these sites end up with an undercurrent of combativeness. Let it breathe.
  17. Shouldn't be too difficult to get underneath with a flashlight and find where it's coming from.
  18. ECM controls fuel and spark. If the ECM receives no signal from the CPS it will shut down fuel and spark. Your problem is likely the CPS.
