  1. I'm running an "04 WJ pump on a 2.5. You can make anything work.
  2. https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/d/1986-jeep-comanche/6229997946.html
  3. I'm ordering brakes for the front that require the early knuckle. I currently have a '94 D30. The unit bearing part numbers differ from early to late. I do not have a set of early unit bearings to compare. Is there a difference? if so, what is the difference? Thanks.
  4. Your dist is out of phase. Go to TDC...........that mark you ignored.........on the compression stroke and index your dist.
  5. No, but they're basically the same diameter. 14mm = 0.551" 9/16" = 0.562" (on a normal bolt) Typically the holes will be slightly oversized and the 9/16" bolt will go in snugly. If you're in a situation where there is a captive nut (there isn't on a MJ), you would need to use the correct M14xwhatever bolt. This is the case on the XJ with the infamous front leaf pockets that have a captive nut inside the frame rail. Never mind........... I'm thinking of XJ with the weld-nuts........worked on my wife's yesterday.
  6. It's not the shear but the clamping force............grade 8. I wonder how many guys used a grade 5 on the axle end of the TB........then wondered why the hole is wallowed out??? 9/16 and 14mm share the same pitch?. I can't imagine that.
  7. More answers, tach drive shown.
  8. Here's your answers-
  9. 200mph Mustang, you can get a slight glimpse of the electric motor. I suspect some of these electrics simply replace the combustion engine before the trans.........everything else is straight forward. I suspect this is the case with the 4X. Electric people apparently don't like giving details. Stuffy people.
  10. Wheel motors are nothing new, they've been around a while, see below- Most electric people are shortsighted, notice the designer's comment in the first minute or two of the vid in the first post, 'combustion is not the future'. Well, neither is 1200lbs of lithium ion either. I mow with a small Kubota, full throttle for 3 hours and I burn 1.5 gallons of diesel, there is no reason that one could not combine four wheel motors with a small diesel gen and get in the neighborhood of 200 miles per gallon with a much smaller bank of batteries. No reason other than the stupidity of designers/engineers. Electric is the $#!&, no doubt about that, and you can image what hot rodders would eventually do with them, 1000hp/tq would be the norm along with neck breaking 6 second quarter mile times.......no doubt. see here- https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/153697-mercedes-benz-sls-amg-electric-drive-a-740-hp-super-sports-car-with-one-electric-motor-per-wheel BTW, imagine that 4X with wheel motors, very low center, all the weight at the wheel/tire, $#!&loads of torque on demand. Traction control would be taken to a whole new level. Other thing these people never consider, electric motors get hot, real hot, real fast, you'll need to blanket that motor with a cooler........water, pumps, radiators.............all extra strain on the electric system. Yeah, he might tool around his farm alright, but if you ever took that thing out for some serious 4x...........heat.
  11. If everyone pitches in $10 or $15................you'll be covered.
  12. It's important to me, pic below is after a second set of new springs in the back raised the rear 1 1/4", now it sits level. Didn't drive right either, didn't like it at all.
  13. I paid $16 for the bearing from NAPA (SKF brand), which was 3-4 times the cost for a bearing from Amazon.....now that I am smarter on bearings. I will install a new bearing in my original smooth pulley (bought from Amazon), rather than buy another pulley. I'm not picking on you, but I'm always curious about statements like this. Bearings matter, especially when they leave you and your best girl stranded in the middle of nowhere at 3AM. SKF is a decent bearing, $16 is dirt cheap. Particularly when we are getting to a point where we should be happy we can even get parts for a 30 year old vehicle.
  14. Yeah, nice truck. You can push that rear axle back, I did mine, that kind of thing drives me nuts.
  15. Would have been nice to have a broader view........?
  16. I promise you..........someone has more than $29K invested in that truck.
  17. If you can help out with the pic situation, that would be great. Otherwise, as they say, 'if it works, don't break it'.
  18. I'll stick with my Bushwackers.
  19. Everyone assumes that just because someone became an engineer, designer, manager, or CEO of a major corporation, they must be smart, not so. 69 Camaro, Mustang, 70 Challenger. If the engineers at GM, Ford, Chrysler, had two collective brain cells.......... There is no reason that they could not produce a 69 Camaro, for example, for 2018, one that at a glance in a parking lot could not be discerned one from another. Sure, new chassis, drive train, interior, all brought to current regs, but the body itself. Not a retro attempt but a recreation of a true classic. I promise you, those would be pre-sold for 4 years out. All the guys that are in the 55-65 year old range that wanted one or had one back in the day, who now have three nickles to rub together, those guys would be standing in line. Not to mention that our kids twenty years from now would have another round of classics to play with. No, it won't happen. People are not that smart. It ain't gonna happen with your beloved Comanche either.
  20. Congrats! I married my best friend, I hope you did too. :) Why did you go across state lines?
  21. As long as you eliminate the one at the back of the head, the gauge sender, no problems.
  22. My aunt has the Patriot and if this has the same drive train........include my mothers new Cherokee..............it's FWD, 4WD is an afterthought.
  23. I posted some time back a link to the Dana website it's length x wall thickness X rotation speed that gives you the diameter of the tube XJ tube is too small and diameter for the length but you can do what you want
